Danny Rose

A number of weeks as in one week? 32 weeks? Doesn't sound promising. Probably won't be back playing until sometime April the earliest then. Let's just hope he's fully fit and ready for Arse, Wet Spam and Manure.
 
Weeks, I was hoping it was going to be days.

Massive, massive blow. Ben Davies is decent but not in the same league as Rose right now.

Vertonghen may have to do the odd stint at LB to give Davies a rest

It is a blow and as you say Davies is not Danny Rose, however he is a good full back and with a further run of games he will progress. Not sure how many game he has played on the run but he does seem to be fitting in better.
 
Jan 31st he did it.

MCL ...same as njie (bad one) and Jan at Palace last season.
Didn't look too bad when he did it. It'll be 4 weeks this weekend. I reckon 2 weeks he'll be back training and another two weeks he'll be good to go.

Fuc k the England brick....back for Burnley.
 
Real shame, Davies is nowhere near Rose level and doesnt offer anything going forward. I find Davies a safe player. Never takes risks. He likes to pass backwards.

Agree he's not remotely as good as Rose going forward, but he's mostly good defensively and does contribute to our attacking play as well. He's got a decent cross when he goes forward. As has been said; I think we'll see his performances improve with a run in the team.

We're better with Rose no doubt - much better - but for a back up left back, I'm happy with Davies. I doubt we could attract anyone better without offering silly money or regular trophies.

I disagree. I think Davies is a good player but we need that pace on each side to give us that outlet, we're too easy to stop when everything goes central.
If we continue playing 3 at the back then Rose's backup doesn't even need to be that good defensively, just give us some energy and pace down the left.
