Yesterday's yellow was far from reckless.
You know my major criticism of him this season? Two of the five goals he scored were last minute equalisers that got us draws away from home, saved Frank's job a bit longer, and allowed Frank to say we had 'played well' in said-games. If he hadn't bothered scoring those then perhaps we'd have got rid of Frank sooner because the alarm bells would've been more tangible.
As for the rest of what you said, needless to say I heartily disagree.

We had a proven PL goalscorer that many fans criticsised because as a wide player he never wanted to take on full backs but he had a knack of getting on to crosses and scoring but for some unknown reason was sold in January.

Thought he won the ball fairly, his reputation makes the ref give the foul and yellow.
Not one to usually dig out refs as it's not easy out there but how he didn't give Brobbey a yellow when he flew into Romero I'll never know.
Should have had a 3rd yellow for the 'dangerous play' shove on Romero into Kinsky too.
Loads of other poor decisions, the 'handball' by Muani when we could've broke away 2nd half was based purely on the crowd calling for it.

My reading of it too.
There were elements of his performance in the Forest game that were disgraceful really. On Sunday, he again confused commitment with brainlessly running around (the bizarre attempt to defend with a scorpion kick, the revenge tackle that was always going to happen as soon as he was fouled).
IMO he’s no loss at this stage as he’s not what’s required in our back line in a relegation battle (although it’s all probably a moot point now tbh).

Have to say, I disagree on the yellow Steff. The Sunderland lad has his back to our goal midway inside the half. You just need to stop him turning there. That's what top defenders do.
What Romero did was slide in from behind. Of course, you might win the ball and get us on the counter. However, there is always a good chance you give away a foul and, if you do, it's a yellow. There's also a chance you miss entirely and you're now out of the game because you're on your arse and Sunderland are on their way towards your goal.
It wasn't good decision making. Romero rarely weighs up the risk/reward of his actions. He just acts on impulse - if he thinks he can win the ball, he's doing that regardless of potential consequences. When it comes off, it looks great. When it doesn't, it's a problem.
Romero is such a talented lad. Good defender and very good on the ball. I'm not happy he's out albeit I think Danso is a very good replacement. I also don't agree with some of the personal abuse he's gotten online. However, his decision making is poor and the yellow on Sunday, for me, was a good illustration of that.

It's pretty easy, they aren't good players. This is why for years now I've been saying we need to stop accepting mediocrity and giving plautitudes for the ordinary. When I kept saying Richy wasn't good enough 3 years ago so many made excuses for him, when I say Solanke is meh and has had one good season again excuses were made. Well now the chickens have come home to roost.
