Cristian Romero

Well, it seems Romero has become another culture war here.

I still feel it’s a red, he’s been highly reckless and he’s cost his team big time.

I like to try and put myself in his head and understand what’s going on - for me, he’s angry and he’s playing angry. He has been for some time. He’s angry he’s committed he’s best years to spurs - no on has forced him to, he’s probably angry at himself for signing that contract at the start of the season - and we’ve been a brick show for the most part of his peak. And now he’s trying to make the situation untenable and that it’s impossible to keep him this summer, possibly forcing us to take a rate lower than we get for a focused player of his a ability.

It all obviously can’t be proven, but his actions speak to me of someone who doesn’t want to be here any more. GHod help us for the rest of the season, we need some points - and players committed to doing what they need to do to pick them up - quick.

In a way you proved your point. Palhinha made a perfectly clean tackle, 2nd in a week, and he got yellows both times.

It's not about victimization, you play for Spurs, most times you won't get the rub of the green, you play for any top club that regularly bitches about it, somehow you get away with it.

The tackle on Gallagher at start of game with keeper off his line, Shaw's elbow on Souza, there were about 2-3 others that if the player was on our side, there would have been a card.

I hate it, but the best way is not to accept it, but do the cringe, write letters, demand explanations, make a scene, that's what is being rewarded.

Even Frank isn’t defending Romero, and football managers will defend anything and claim they didn’t see things involving their players. Romero has apologised to his teammates so it’s case closed on whether it was a red or not. I’m fairly confident this red card won’t change the way he plays. I like Romero but he’s becoming a liability with his recklessness and brain farts.

Well Frank says that the red is a red, and that Romero has apologised to his team mates

Ah yes, the controversial Thomas who defends his players. Truth be told the club are selling him, Romero and the whole team out!

I hate criticising refs but for Michael Oliver I'll make an exception, he is a prize cnut.

I am sick of 'culture wars' mate.Still, apparently he's not worth it and now we'll start seeing better results!

His actions speak of a man beyond frustrated and a club in a mess which is too weak to deal with hIm. He should've been fined for the first outburst (whatever I think) and honestly, we have set a weak culture which has allowed us to become such a mess. He needs better management. FWIW under Ange's lot he didn't get any cards after Xmas!

I 100% concur with this second point mate. He’s been allowed to act like this and stronger leadership would’ve dealt with it sooner and harder.

I’ve got some thoughts on the first point. I’ll probably take them to PM if you’ll indulge me… if you haven’t got the headspace, let me know. It’s really fine.
