Can anyone explain the logic of Ange not being good enough on account of his achievements coming in lesser leagues, but Thomas Frank who has literally not even managed a match Europe is the right man?
Don't think that is the logic.

Frank has form for getting the best out of his disposal in the league.

Poch has put himself out of the running.

He’ll get the job next summer after Frank has been sacked having missed out on CL football, USA’s run in the World Cup is done and Charington has finished his restructuring and binned Levy.

Funny thing is Conte has never been successful in Europe. I don't think he has even reached a final. I wonder how Napoli would perform with European games next season.
Often struggles in the league too when his teams are in Europe iirc.

He's a good example of how big the difference between being in and not in Europe can be. And from that how having concerns about a manager that's never managed that before are relevant.

But anyone we could appoint will have concerns around them.

I am not in the bring back poch camp but given the choice between him & Frank I'd take poch everyday of the week. I think most on here would
The poll on this thread shows that…. Frank only more popular than Tersic and McKenna.

If it does end up being Frank then I will get behind him as I do all of our managers, even though I think sacking a manager who has finally achieved success after 17 long years is completely wrong and Frank doesn’t have the credentials to be joining a big club like Spurs.

I don't understand what your response means in the context of my question.

You was asking why Frank is an option given his lack of achievements (trophy success) when Ange was written off despite having success previously - Fernadez was pointing out that Frank is an option because of his performance in the PL with the implication being that previous successes aren't important/as important

You've put forward that people said Ange wasn't good enough because of his lesser league experience, having not had managed in the Premier League.

The logic is that Frank has, and proven that he is good enough to keep a team with much less resources than us above 17th.

You've put Europe in there but Ange himself said that cups are not an indication of progress. The league is the bread and butter day job. Also, previously Ange didn't exactly shine in the Champions League, himself.

The two things you've tried to throw together there aren't even related, comes across as a bit ingenuine.

Maybe this is because Conte knows that at some clubs it is not worth being successful in Europe if you crash and burn in the league.

No
It was a daft thing to hit Ange with in the first place
Although to use Europe as a bar isn’t a compliment Ange pre joining us
We should look for the right guy based on what they have done with the resources they had

I didnt mean dressing rooms arent single language, just you have anglo, franco and latin groups in all top dressing rooms.

Who in our current squad doesnt speak good English? Richy and Keeley are probably the hardest to comprehend
I don’t know
I think they all speak it now
It was more an observation that Brentford chose it as a measure when signing players
That language barrier is massive for new signings and settling in
Cuti has never spoken English publicly and it may be part of the reason he has not settled here (or his wife) despite what has happened on the pitch. He may well of course be supper fluent behind the scenes

How are they unrelated? Ange was consistently mocked because he hadn’t managed in the Premier League. Is that the only thing that matters? Feels like there might be more to it than you’re letting on.

Anyway. If you didn’t like the manager who won us a European trophy, I look forward to seeing how you measure this one.
