There's a wee section on The Bren Gun at the start of this from Ben Haines and Rob Daly:

He absoloutely should (and will) be remembered in a positive light regardless of the overall discussion surrounding his ability - he scored the goal that won us a European trophy and when all said and done not many players in history can lay claim to that, let alone in our history.

Celebrating that goal in the San Mames and the Johnson Again Ole Ole chants that followed to the end of the half and then through halftime on the concourse and throughout the 2nd half will live long in the memory.

Yet the three most successful managers in the PL are Ferguson, Mourinho and the child catcher. (Or has Guardiola overtaken?)

Not people who particularly cared about being liked, but insisted on respect and obedience from their players.
Anyone leaking to the press about being unhappy (if true of course) would be following Johnson out the door

Spot on. Regardless of what people think of him, his name is etched in club history along with likes of Bobby Mimms, Graham Roberts, Martin Chivers to name a few

Absolutely! And I hope they continue to be sung much like the Dele songs. Lads who have added to our history in a positive way! Many thanks.

I notice he's already had an eagle tat................;)

Already started for me. We need goals and we sold a goalscorer.

You cant argue about that fact, the problem appeared he offered little but goals in certain situations, we were failing to create that type of chance and his all round game wasn't good enough to be a regular starter. He may fair better at Palace, I hope he does he seemed a nice lad and popular with his team mates.

I will just never understand the idea that for a winger or striker there is any metric more important than goals.

True but when they are not scoring they are a luxury if that's all they can do, his record is reasonable for a winger but as I wrote he tends to get a certain type of goal which is reliant on others making the chance, hes got the instinct to be there but I just can't see him making something for himself.
