I agree it is just a coincidence. However, once it is clear that the top appears to make light of a sensitive issue then it is right that it is withdrawn and an apology issued. That should be the end of story. But it’s the same with any issue in the public eye, be it racism or Grenfell, there are victims, but they are usually outnumbered by people who stoke up the outrage on the victims’ behalf and opportunists who push their own agenda. Didn’t Liverpool fans recently boo Patrice Evra for having the temerity to allow himself to be racially abused by one of their players? A Liverpool player who was then celebrated with a t- shirt of his own.
