Anthony Martial

I still can't believe United are gonna spunk 50m euros on another attacking player, especially as he isn't an out and out striker which they need!

So much for LVG being a guy that likes to come in and work with what he has at a club and implement his philosophy. I suppose when it's probably your last job that goes out the window...

was this actually a thing or did everyone assume it because AZ didn't have any money, he spent a bit at Barca and Bayern iirc, Ajax was different but then look at the players they already had coming though

In that case maybe Berahino for £25m is not a bad deal after all

i tell you in todays market its very very good value

for a club like us its very difficult to convince and sign good players, and here we have one that is seemingly wanting to join us, has agreed in principle to our wage offer, and all we have left to do is agree a deal with the club where the sale price has been set for some time and like i said is good value when you look at how much other players are costing

Yep, thing is gone are the days of signing an Henry for £11m or whatever it is. He was at the level of Martial when he joined Arsneal IMO but obviously take into account rate of inflation. For an up and coming player you will need to be paying close to £30m now at least. But with that ticket prices have gone up so it is all relative really. Berahino for £25m isn't bad I don't think.

Thats £58m

:eek::eek::eek:

isnt it 36 mill cash and 22 mill in add ons

Yes but Utd behaving in this manner means it makes it triple difficult to sign young talent...as anyone will be hoping 'two bricks short of a foundation' Woodward will come along and offer crazy money!

Very true. I think we will find out the exact transfer fee as it will more than likely be disclosed to the US stock market. What is interesting from reading the details of a number of their large sponsorship deals is that it is predicated on them being in the CL. That is why they are spending such large sums of money because they have to cement their CL status. If they don't, then their financial supremacy is starting to weaken.

Very interesting. He's definitely a player I'd want to sign. Apparently we were close to signing him but went to Man Utd for a tidy living.
