There are many reasons why this deal wouldn't get done. But maybe one reason why it could.

Seems like Barca or Fati's agent is publicising this story to drum up more interest or create leverage. Reportely on Kane-like wages. Guess he must be a talent to comand E13m a year at 20. Those wages are the greatest obsticle to a loan with an option to buy.

But if it comes down to Serville vs us, we surely can pay more of his wages than them. The rest is whether we can agree an option to buy, and personal terms with Fati for any future transfer.

One other thing is we are clearly in the market for this type of player, isn't Johnson a similar kind of player?

The chances of us getting this done? 40% and contingent on chelsea staying clear (they have enough players), and us being up against Serville.

Okay just watched 30 seconds of a YT vids of his goals with a thumping baseline...he could be a Kane replacment. Likes to strike the ball early and has an eye for goal. Doesn't have Kane's physical presence but maybe is more able to play from the wing too.

Looks a talent from the clips. Idk how he'd fair in the PL with more physical challanges. But I guess he is preferable to Johnson all things being equal. Of course wages are not equal, and Fati probably comands double Johnson's wages! Maybe that could be offset by a lower buy price?

Is that really where he can play
I’ve seen so little of him TBH
He can play across any position in the front 3. Not an out and out striker, but that doesn't seem to be Ange's preference either. Absolutely not a target or hold-up player. More playing on the shoulder, or like a false 9.

Which IMO is what Ange needs
Everything I’ve read says he has lost his speed though

May aswell lock the thread. This shows again how reports can be flimflam. There is no way we were as close to signing him as they reported for him to be now on the brink of signing for Brighton 15 minutes later.
