I’m wary of pinning our hopes on Paratici. There’s more than a hint of a cowboy about him. He got banned for a reason.
I don't mind the cowboy in him as long as he's somewhere in Siberia when the club decides on the next manager. he has a good eye for players, got GHod forbid he has any input on managerial appointments.

You say that, but we’ve not actually tried one.

His signings were initially seen as risks, that then worked out, when we got over how slow Kulu was, and how lightweight Bents is.

Maybe his manager choice will have an equal impact…

But do any of them really inspire. Do you think any of them can bring us success. Don't get me wrong whoever gets the job will get 100% of my support

I think the right person could yeah, but we won’t know until they have had a go.

Poch was a punt, it worked, iirc, the poll on here at the time was heavy for van Gaal.

Is there an inspirational coach out there we have not already fired? I can’t think of one.

By making the claim that none of the mid table managers guarantee anything the implication is that there are options out there that do. I've explained the logic behind my thinking - I think it's pretty solid. You haven't actually provided any of yours
Mate your happy with a mid table manager who could have us in a relagation battle or maybe not.
Just maybe he'll win the champions league but history tells us we'll be 12th. hopefully you are right & I am wrong & we can both be happy

Where did I say X, Y or z would guarantee anything.

I will leave it here you seem happy to accept a mid table manager who hasn't won or achieved anything

Poch was playing unreal football and got Southampton 7th

Frank plays insipid football and has never finished higher than what, 9th? With the best recruitment department in the country bar possibly Brighton.

I love Ange but I understand the decision to sack him. It only makes sense if we have identified the right successor though, and to my layman's eye, none of the serious contender are that.

And Thomas frank definitely isn't that, decent bloke as I'm sure he is.

9th with Brentford, imo, thats not for nothing.

How are we blowing the structure up?? Replacing personnel is not blowing a structure up.

I agree. Replacing personnel is not blowing a structure up.
Replacing a manager, a high ranking board member, losing another high ranking board member, and potentially bringing back a sporting director who works in virtually the opposite way to the current one, well, that's a little different than just 'replacing personnel' isn't it? I mean, do we as a football club actually know who we are and what we want?

Someone on Bluesky says:

Some more behind-the-scenes revelations in here. This time with regards to the friction with the medical staff.

Hopefully new ideas and better results.

Hmmm I like him… but did he really stick up for us all the time?

The Emirates Marketing Project game comes to mind.

It does make me a little slightly peeved that Ange, with his big end of season bonus and his big fat salary, is getting all the pity whilst nobody has even mentioned Matt Wells. A guy that lost a promising playing career at our club due to horrible injuries. A guy, whose grandad is the legend Cliff Jones, and bleeds Spurs in every thing he does. Matt missed out on PL salaries and had to rebuild his career by taking up coaching. He coached with us, away from us and then back with us and built his career to Spurs assistant manager. He's done so many hard yards and now sees his career at a crossroads.

Ange was just another manager passing through. He didn't bleed Spurs like we do. Like Matt does. Like Ryan does.

I'll be curious to know what Matt Wells does next.
