American politics

I take Robp135 point that the in-action of local governments has created part of the problem almost forcing Trumps hand to implement his policy.
Since the 60's mass protest have been part of US political life, many with violent outbursts from both sides, allowing virtually all the population to be armed makes these situations very dangerous and shooting will follow and people will over react to small incidents which soon get out of hand.
We see similar things happening here but fortunately we are not walking round like John Wayne ready to shoot anyone who doesn't agree or upsets us.
It's not just an American problem all countries have elements in their law enforcement forces who are or behave in an extremism way.
I dont see any easy solution to this problem as law enforcement has become detached from the general public and usually deal with law breakers and the worse part of our societies.

They are certainly in hard jobs, but ICE are also certainly under trained, poorly profiled as staff and given a poor directive in their approach.

This is true. But had the borders been properly secured, which its been proven the past year was absolutely possible, and if those here illegally would self deport when ordered to do so, you wouldn't need to go on a mass hiring spree of agents which results in a poorer quality across any field.

Specific to ICE, its only getting out of hand in certain cities. Minnesota and Portland to be specific and you have to look at what makes these 2 cities unique in comparison to other major US cities where there are are higher numbers of deportations and active ICE agents but you don't have the violent clashes. In both cases, the political leadership in Minnesota and Portland have actively undermined ICE and forced local law enforcement to stand down. In CA & NY and other blue states/cities you get the preaching from their leaders but they don't actually intervene with local law enforcement assisting.

Have you been on this site before with a different handle perchance? Not a dig BTW but the tone and structure of this all seems fairly similar but I can't put my finger on it

No. I was on spurs community for a short period a few years back of time but got a permanent ban when I questioned an ITK that was clearly making stuff up :)

I live in the US so this is an interesting topic to me and I think it gives me what appears so far to be a unique perspective in the thread. But as I said last week I am interested in good faith discussions. If i am going to have my morality questioned by someone that wants to appear intellectual on an internet forum and doesn't have the ability to see any nuance beyond his own political views, I just won't engage with them.

This is what someone who has lost a debate writes like. Run off pal. Or let's deal with this academically. I doubt you will.

Genuinely though. Anyone who defends ICE can go to hell as far as I'm concerned. And when they try to deport you I'd still want justice for you. Trump won't.

I’ve asked you a really straight forward question and you just flat out refuse to answer for some reason.

I’m a legal permanent resident eligible to become a citizen at any time. Lived in the US since 2006.

This would be like if 18% of NHS hospice expenditure were in Haringey.

I would have guessed higher

Los Angeles County, not all of CA, would account for less than 2% of the US population. Based on the Health Care system, if an area is more affluent they would require less Medicare expenditure as wealthy people will typically still have a private plan in retirement and not rely on Medicare.

You asked if I have any right wing views. I asked you to give examples. Those examples proved you have no idea what left and right wing are. So it has become impossible to answer your simple question because the premise of the question is based on your inability to understand basic basic political theory.

Do you hold any opinions that would be considered to the right by a simpleton like me?

The things you listed as right wing

Pro Israel/genocide - No

Guns without full checks - No

Private Healthcare only - No

Not regulating banks - No and la la land. There's no such thing.

Brexit - No. It was economic self harm

Your issue is you made yourself look a tit when you talk about things you don't understand and act like you do. And ignoramus is fine if they know they are one.

For the sake of it I will say I am an ignoramus.

Nothing you have said here would be considered to the right. You are still not answering the bloody question.
