America under Trump is destroying any soft power it had among the democracies of the world. If European leaders didn't understand they were on their own before (and I'm sure they did privately), then they do now. Trump is also abandoning allies in the Indo-Pacific region. The message to all is pretty unambiguous, and so the EU must continue to pivot away from the US in all things.

My concern is for Taiwan without the US there is nothing stopping China from taking it by force. Xi Jinping has said previously if they have to take by force they will. Sadly I think It's just a matter of time before they act
