...BTW, if you're referring to the homeopathic hippy-driven '70s vaccine skeptics, they weren't specificallty vaccine skeptci, they just didn't believe on western medicine. Libertarians were also a major part of the anti-vaccine school. Both came from different perspectives. BTW, if you understood hippy culture, you'd know it was based around self-consciousness and individual freedom/escape. As I told you, I grew up with hippy parents.

I actually liked Fauci during Covid and generally felt that he was doing his best in an incredibly difficult and unprecedented situation. I don’t think he was acting maliciously, and I respected the fact that he was trying to give people guidance during a frightening time. That said, I think some of the policies he supported turned out to be mistakes, particularly prolonged lockdowns, school closures, and some of the broader restrictions that had significant social, educational and economic consequences. In hindsight, I think there should have been a greater willingness to acknowledge the uncertainty in the evidence, consider the wider costs of restrictions, and adjust policies more quickly as we learned more about the virus. I can respect Fauci’s intentions while still believing that some of the decisions made during Covid were wrong.
He also explicitly wrote about his extraordinary new level of fame in his diary and described himself as potentially one of the most recognisable people in the world. I’d argue that as evidence that he became preoccupied with his celebrity.
