American politics

No shock Qatar has brokered a deal, work associate of mine is out there and they were lit up like Fireworks night. There is absolutely no chance Saudi, Qatar and the UAE allow it to carry on given their need to tourism, another few days of the airspace closed severely harms that.

Agreed, however we need an adult in the room, unlikely I know, to remind him that it may have worked this time but it's not the answer all the time.
We lucked out.
There are no adults in the room. He has eliminated swaths of national security and dod staff in loyalty purges. The administration heads are syncophantic macarons that so far out of their depth it is scary to think about. Someone described it as like being tied to a chair, watching while a toddler plays with a loaded gun.

The adults in the room would have sorted it aka their neighbours who don't want to risk a winter without tourism. He will take the credit.

Like @Rorschach says, I am going to just take the win at this point as it was already having a massive impact on my business.

This ceasefire is already on tender hooks.

And all the while people's eyes are away from the massacres in Gaza and the crazy level of settlers violence and expansion in the West Bank.

DTA is the great Satan. I will wipe him and everything he stands for off the face of the earth.

The great Johnola will fill the ears of all those who claim not to understand his words with FIRE and pain.

You don’t mind that sort of nonsense then?

I didn’t love it. But I wouldn’t shoot you in the face because of it.

Qatar has the same population as Reading. Or Birkenhead. Whereas Iran is bigger than Germany. What sway would they have?

They along with Saudi sit on the same side and the gulf are pretty much a united force. They are also a sophisticated hub in the region that Iran relies on, I would suspect alot of their money is there and other Gulf States.....they were massive part of getting their 6bn in frozen cash lifted.

So yeh, powerful and as a combined force they can make Iran life as uncomfortable as bombs can

Qatar doesn't have close ties with Saudi and UAE. It's cordial at best.

The relationship with the UAE has soured for sure but in terms of the interests of the Gulf they have always had a mutual belief in protecting what's being built.

Saudi, Qatar, Bahrain and the UAE despite their wealth rely on peace for their very lives moving forward. Saudi have poured 800bn into tourism, given their power in the region alone, there is no way they allow this to persist long term again IMO and for the fact that they will all have that united view point, I suspect that wins through.

Thats just my opinion, I could be wrong

They don't have sway as such, but they have been directly involved in helping negotiations between different groups in the middle east for decades. That experience and skill at diplomacy and negotiating will probably have helped behind the scenes. Especially when the US seem to have got rid of anyone with that skillset.
