I thought it interesting that the commentators mentioned Berger's notes on where the ball would go before the two penalties she saved. Fantastic save to prevent the own goal, which would have been an incredibly cruel way for German resistance to end. While France were the better team, they can't really complain when they failed to score from open play for more than two hours with a player advantage.

On the pitch and goal size, think about the size and physical ability of the male players when the dimensions were set 150 years ago. The pitch and goal are too small for the men now they are so much faster, stronger and fitter.

I’d be up for making the goals smaller in the men’s game too.

Goals should be rare.

The PL GpG average has almost hit 3, it was barely 2 twenty years ago.
