2025 Women's European Championship

The quality is so low, where does it rate against boys, 15/14 year olds .

Perhaps, but I think we have to consider the huge gap in physicality against men. Men are of course stronger, more explosive, quicker, faster etc - there are far more boys playing football than girls, I assume, so there’s a much bigger pool of players to eventually become pros.

When I was 16 back in 2000, the best team in our region, a team we usually drew with or lost by 2-3 goals to, smashed the Norwegian women’s team that won the Olympics 7-0. I think women’s football has come a long way since then, but there’s still some way to go.

The women have come a long way , so I suppose it is unfair to compare them to boys but when you consider Luca Williams Barnett was 15 at the start of last season playing in the U18's the skill gap between him and women who are a lot older is enormous.
I only watched the penalties and they were terrible , I am sure I have seen Beth England hit them a lot harder than last night.

The missed England penalties were like Southgate in 96.

The missed Sweden penalties like Waddle in 90.

Nothing to do with gender, just bad preparation and a lack of composure. Which we see in all levels of football on a weekly basis.

As said, shocking pens, but why were the pens not retaken when the Swedish keeper was blatantly diving early?

Isn't the rule now something about keeping the goalkeeper keeping their feet (or just one) on the line? The goalkeeper can move but can't step forward or take both feet off the ground.

The goalie being able to move is balanced by allowing stutter steps by the penalty taker. If they stop going forward that should count as stopping.
It like handball and offside. They keep changing the rules and interpretations so that something simple becomes complicated.

But that was a shocking penalty shoot out. England missed three in a row with weak shots, while Sweden missed the target three times. The Swedish goalkeeper wanted the glory and blew it.

100% with the talent pool and I think we're probably going to start seeing some very good players come through in the next 10 years as that talent pool deepens.

I used to watch England women when Kelly Smith was playing and I still think she's the only female player I've seen that, if you take away the physicality, could have had a decent career in mens football. I think that will change quite soon.

I’m still waiting for some poor person to be walking down the road and one of the balls to hit them
They were so so bad
Those penalties will be used now as a negative against the women’s game every time

Think the penalty skill of these robots are on about the same level as in the women's European championship

When my mom see women playing football, she always says that it looks like the grass is too long, the ball to big and they goals way too big for them.

Ignoring how many garbage ones we see in the men’s game.
