2015-16 Pre Season

Spurs XI vs Stevenage: Glover, Walker-Peters, Ogilvie, Veljkovic, Ball, Carter-Vickers, Sonupe, Lesniak, Harrison, Azzaoui, Oduwa.

Subs: Voss, Amos, Goddard, Walkes, Maghoma, McEvoy.

We're beating Stevenage 1-0 at half time, Oduwa with the goal. He has since been stretchered off after a bad challenge, was down for 7 minutes so not looking good at all.

Oduwa was having such a decent pre-season too. Just like what happened to Pritchard, a frustrated player takes a chunk out of one of ours.

Won 2-0, Harrison(pen) with the other goal. Good win for the kids.

Early reports are that Oduwa's head hit the ground after the tackle and suffered a concussion as a result.

Windy says Veljkovic was motm, hopefully Poch(or one of his slaves) was watching.

In a way it's good for Oduwa because someone hasn't broken his leg etc. On the other hand a head injury isn't good either.

Veljkovic at DM or did he partner Ball or CCV in defence?

I would be very surprised if any of Saturday's starting 11 gets more than 90 minutes over the two matches in midweek.

So if people are thinking our players can't handle 90 minutes of a low/medium intensity friendly on Tuesday/Wednesday before a premier league match on Saturday, why on earth would they want us to qualify for the Champions League. I genuinely don't see any issue at all with giving the players a friendly run-out the week before the season starts. These are supposed to be professional athletes coming off a summer rest followed by pre-season training.

Neither do I, it sounds like more excuses before we even play the game.

The issue is the majority of the players can't be match fit already can they be? They haven't played enough pre season minutes surely. They shouldn't be looking to be getting match fitness 3 days before the first fixture of the season.

Read somewhere that Oduwa was sitting back on the bench before the end of play. Veljkovic being stated as the MOTM for completely bossing the midfield although hearing that CCV clattered into the guy who took out Oduwa and left him needing some treatment makes me think we should be giving it to him.

we'll be interesting to see if we send him out on loan or give him a chance with the first team in the cup games. He looks good in the spell under Tim. Very elegant.

He's not going to get many chances in central defence with four or five in front of him, so if Poch does not think that he has the qualities he is looking for in a midfielder, he'd be better off going out on loan.

he's better in defensive midfield - like where he played every game under Sherwood, where he played for Charlton before his injury and where he played today (and impressed)
