People knock the quality of this competition, but there are some tasty teams in that list

People focus too much on the "less famous' names. On that note, I'm sure most of Europe are really looking forward to facing the footballing powerhouse from Southampton.

It would be better if the CL was just champions, but as you say, still some excellent clubs in the EL as well as rising stars.

Looking forward to it.

You know we will draw Krasnodar and/or one of the Ukrainian clubs. UEFA rule page 126, section 18, sub-section 12, Spurs Glory ".......must echo to the very furthest reaches of the continent".

Genoa don't have a UEFA license, so they've been replaced by Sampdoria. Same city, just a different team.

and lots and lots more of @scaramanga's favorite teams from across Europe. Anyone with a coefficient of 3.450 or more will be seeded in the first round, so West Ham's opponents will most likely come from Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Finland or some former member of Yugoslavia or the Soviet Republic.

These three will have a playoff to decide who goes into group stage, 2nd and 3rd qualifying rounds respectively.

Asteras Tripolis 13.380 (GRE)
PAOK Thessaloniki 40.880 (GRE)
Atromitos FC 10.380 (GRE)

FC Zürich (16.875 ) will go into the group stage and FC Thun (10.375) in the 3rd qualifying round unless Sion (8.375) win the Swiss cup final. If they win, the two others will be shifted down a notch. If they don't, someone else (Wolfsberger based on league positions) will go into the 2nd round. The cup winner here only gets a group stage spot because Sevilla have qualified for the CL.

Same goes for Sturm Graz (9.135). If Austria Wien (20.635) win the Austrian cup final, they go into the 3rd round and Sturm Graz the 2nd. Otherwise someone else (Luzern based on league position) will go into the 2nd. Ninth placed Vaduz have already qualified by winning the cup in Liechtenstein.

In Poland nothing has been determined yet.

I think the early qualifying rounds are regional so unlikely to be a team from eastern Europe are more likely to be from those first few countries.

I would love to get drawn against a big name Spanish team like Bilbao (are they in it). We always seem to get absolute no names with crowds of 500 people.

They can't be ranked lower than 12th for the group stage, so not until the knockouts.

Ideal group: FC Copenhagen, Sparta Prague, Rosenborg (or any Swedish or Norwegian side that qualifies)

Big name group: Celtic, Monaco, Sampdoria

bricktiest group: Dinamo Bucuresti, Dinamo Moscow, Sheriff Tiraspol

I'd take the big name group. We should be able to get through it. No doubt we will get crud group though.

Yep, no doubt it will back to Tiraspol.

How about Copenhagen, Prague and Vienna for the travelling fans. 3 top awaydays
