few weeks ago TF said solanke was training on grass. not seen in any training pictures though and strangely saw maddison walking around a training video a few days ago.Still nothing on Solanke, mental this injury recovery
But Arteta is the one complaining and making excuses, and the media are swallowing it with bate, hook and sink.
Maddison was massively important during those first 10 games under Ange before his injury. He can be the deep lying passing midfielder or the number 10, as well as the leader on the pitch. He was missed particularly in terms of giving Xavi time to become accustomed to the league and as a rotation option. He is a streaky player but, on form, I see him as an asset and a big miss.I don't think the missing players are the panacea for all of our ills if I'm honest. Solanke and Maddison are both questionable in terms of effectiveness. I worry we are doing that thing again where a missing or injured players become better the longer they are missing.
Kulu is though a genuine miss, we were basically the Kulusevski team for large portions of last season, especially before Xmas.
All of that I do agree with it's just if you read posts on here some are have started overrating those players in their memories as if all of our problems would have been solved if they were available. It's as if people don't remember Maddison's form post those first 10 Ange games and just the general lack of quality impact Solanke was able to make.Maddison was massively important during those first 10 games under Ange before his injury. Solanke's hold up play has been really missed this season especially when Richarlison had to be the number 9. I dread an injury to Muani so Solanke being available again is very important.
We miss both as rotation options. So while not world beaters they are decent players who increase our options especially in games where we are struggling.

Good players yes, good options yes, better to have them available 100% but let's just not get too carried away and forget that we had these very players available at various points over the last 2 seasons and had many of the same core problems we have now.
