Mousa Dembele

Much as I love the big man, I fear his best may be behind him now. Every performance this season, he has looked a shadow of his former self. His strength appears much diminished, he loses possession too frequently and his dribbling has become predictable.

Will he recover his form? That is the big question. But at his age and injury record, the omens don't look good.

Check your crystal ball ... the omens!

That Cheatski thug Romeu (sp?) took him down vs Southampton cynically and Dembele twisted his hips as he hit the deck awkwardly, so it is more of an impact injury than wear and tear

"Thug" he's a pussy

I could injure Moussa in my wheelchair

Poor old Dembele he's now too fragile for us.

I think he has been like this for a while now, he is a player who we can not rely on to be fit often( or so it seems). I said in the summer we should be looking at alternatives.

....and I think we were looking for alternatives. We went for Andre Gomes and obviously Barkley as well (though I know there is disagreement on here about whether Poch would use him as a CM or in the 3 behind Kane). Hopefully we can land one of these two in Jan

Well i do think we need a alternative, not sure it will happen in jan though.

Would cost £60m even at his age and will also want £150k - £200k a week imo.

Not sure on the wages there, from what I understand like in Holland Italian clubs are not paying top whack. Dybala was on silly wages like 40 till this year. But anyway wont happen.

Another who would be Excellent but has pulled up many trees so much so he is now off the charts is Savic at Lazio, 80m being touted for him

I think its his age.

We would spend but as seen in our Big for Malcolm, we will do it on youth as players for 40m can go for 100m in 5 years, like Sanchez

We spent 30m on a 28 year old Sissoko?

Main problems are value, worth more than Pogba according to previous manager who then later tried to sign him but couldn't, Stature of club, wages, player's happiness with lifestyle/city and in scoring form of his life over last seasons.

If age at 29 was the only problem then not getting him in would be insane but he'd already be an even higher club.

I know he's still by no means the finished article but I still have hopes that OnomaH can come in to make the position his own in due time. In the meantime hopefully I think an experienced centre back comes in to ensure Dier stays in midfield alongside Victor and the Moussa coming back in to form.

It's not the exact same people that alternate in polar opposite opinions, it's generally that people hold their view and pipe up in the right circumstance to feel comfortable in being right however briefly.

As I said, not finished article but trust me, some villa fans rate him and more importantly, the manager does.
