Harry Kane MBE

This. It doesn't look fancy, but his finishing is so clinical when he's on form. A bit unfair on Sissoko, but compare his one on one chance with Kane's, and the manner in which they finished. It's not a coincidence Kane scored and Sissoko didn't. The latter simply doesn't have the conviction and calmness in front of goal that Kane has (and yes, I realise Kane has missed these chances too).

And not only that, he's also a 10/10 for positioning, IMO. He is very good at anticipating where the ball will end up and how to move to create that little bit of space which in turn results in a scoring position.

I also think he's a damn good passer of the ball. His vision is outstanding; how many times have we seen him go deep to fetch the ball and unleash a brilliant pass forward? Highly underrated part of his game, IMO. While not a particularly fast player, he's also much faster than given credit for too.

I think he doesn't get enough credit for how good he is, because he doesn't drift past players like Messi or score spectacular goals like Ronaldo/Neyma - and because he's seemingly just an ordinary, hard working guy whose image is, well, quite boring and unspectacular. He's not the right type for the media age we live in, IMO, where quality in itself simply isn’t enough if you don't also have the slick, arrogant personality, fancy tattoos or lavish lifestyle that tabloids and social media live for.
Prepare yourself to laugh out loud. According to the BBC Kane has 55% shooting accuracy this season, Sissoko 60%. I kid you not.

So much for football stats eh?

No player should avoid doing their job even if it means getting a suspension

Disagree. Kane is our only reliable goal scorer. Others like Son, Alli and Eriksen are too inconsistent this season. As such, we cannot risk Kane getting injured or yellow carded unnecessarily.

As for Kane's goal scoring records, I think it is meaningless for the media to compare the calendar year goal scoring records of Shearer and Messi. Since most of top European leagues have the August-May season, it is a waste of time to calculate the goals from January-December. They should only refer to the seasonal records.

The PL record for most league goals scored in a season is 34 goals scored by Andy Cole(Saudi Sportswashing Machine) in 1994 and Alan Shearer(Blackburn) in 1995. This is the record Kane should be targetting. Kane scored 29 league goals last season. If he can maintain his goal scoring form, there is no reason why he cannot reach and overtake 34 goals this season.

Amazingly, Kane has not been at his best this season but still has scored more league goals after 19 matches this season which is 15 goals than any of his previous 3 seasons with us which is 5 goals(2015), 11 goals(2016) and 8 goals(2017). Hope he will continue his goal scoring run for a long time.

We cannot let Kane get bigger than the team. We need all the team to step up and contribute equally. Just imagine, Kane has scored more league goals so far this season than Son, Alli and Eriksen combined. We need to start winning trophies to make Kane stay with us. Just like all other players, Kane can easily get influenced by other teams if we don't win major trophies.

He is far from being bigger than the team
The guy though is arguably the best striker in the world so will always been highlited deservedly

The others stepped up last season when Kane was out and we had several in high double figures too and we know they can do it

Every player can be influenced I agree but Kane is a Long king way form leaving this club... even other clubs greats have said he won’t leave but that may not get reported where you are

If Kane stops tackling for fear of a yellow he may as well not play. It’s part of his game and it’s what they should be doing... if your on the pitch be involved

That means hitting the target though not scoring
Yeah but even so. It made me laugh anyway cos you'd expect his stats would suggest he's better at hitting the corner flag.:D

Truth is he was a bit unlucky against Burnley because both those one-on-one shots in quick succession were on target, another day he might well have scored. But they've done wonders for his shots-on-target stat because he's had so few overall compared to Harry.

Relax, there is absolutely no danger of that. The guy is as grounded as they come, despite being one of the best strikers in the world.

Look at the way he dismisses all the media nonsense about him moving to a money-doped club. He is an ambassador for the whole of football in the mould of Bobby Charlton which is why we can be so proud of his achievements and commitment to Tottenham.

He has a lot of outstanding qualities, it's just not the showboat kind.

- To your point (and I've mentioned it before) balance, lack of backlift and early hit on target is as good as anyone ever has been (he so rarely skies a shot)
- Right place, right time (again, often not even seen on tv), his movement and instincts/positioning are as good as any striker in world.
- What has improved in the last 18 months is his ability to outright bully defenders, shrug them off, roll them.

The stuff people think are mediocre/not extraordinary are his pace, workrate, two footed, ability to beat man -> all good, maybe even top PL level, just not the absolute best at any of them, thing is, very few players have all those things in one package.
Not many players I would trust with his weaker foot over Kane.

Big Daddy Kane c*nting Messi off in the most beautiful of ways. :D

Lukaku had a big head-start but Kane could beat him into the 100 Club. Kane 96 Lukaku 95

That would be bloody amazing. Last season, heading into the final couple of games, Lukaku was ahead of Kane in the race for the Golden Boot and then mouthed off in an interview about how he had 'nothing to learn' from Kane (or something like that), because he only paid attention to players he could 'learn from'.

Then Kane rogered him with absolutely no mercy by scoring *seven* in the final two games to finish with the Golden Boot, *again*.

As far as I'm aware, Lukaku never actually piped up about Kane not being worth 'learning from' again, but I'd still like him to blast Lukaku into oblivion in all sorts of ways just for the unwarranted hubris. :)

Superb stuff. Records are made to be broken. I hope he gets to enjoy it for as long as Shearer did (or until another Spurs superstar takes up the mantle).

What more can be said about Harry

Simply sensational

The frustrating thing is that we have this guy scoring all these goals but the team have no trophy to show for it.

Surely surely we will win some trophies
