Dele Alli

His action are down to still being very immature, when he grows up i am sure you will see a more professional player.

I doubt he cares as much about the media as we do reading it.

I'm sure he justifies the dive by the decisions he didn't get earlier in the game.

I still reckon the non celebration of the goal earlier in the season was because his initial shot was blocked by his own teammate and he ended up with a scruffy goal instead.

If you really want to find out what he might be upset about, look at what his parents have been up to. Trying to sue MK dons because they didn't sign off forms when he was a minor and turning up outside training in attempt to talk to him. He's more likely to be upset with stuff in his own life than his success at Spurs on the pitch.
Interesting, I didn't know that bit

Good point also about justifying the dive because he felt he should have had 3 or 4 fouls, so in the heat of the moment he thinks "this will even things up"

Just dont buy that at all. He was in such a good position to get off a shot, and for someone that loves scoring goals I cant figure out for the life of me why hed dive, and I bet he wouldnt be able to really explain it either. I honestly think its just down to force of habit, he does it so often and refs have now picked up on it hence why hes not even getting ones he should. If he doesnt cut it out his diving is going to cost us at a crucial time when we actually do need the penalty, just lucky this time was irrelative.....

Looked to me like his touch past the defender had overrun it, the shot was no longer an option and he decided to buy a pen.

If thats the case (its been a while since last seen the incident and will happily take your word for it) it definitely stems back to him trying to dive to gain an advantage which he does far too often. Certainly wasnt to 'even things up for not getting previous fouls'....

He is a bit of a cynic on the pitch. Alli plays the dark arts. Always has. He likes to tread on your feet, elbow your back, dig and wind you up, and he likes to do the continental "buy a pen" thing as well.

Its just in his make up.

Perhaps its partly his age (vs mine!), consider he has grown up watching this become more and more prevailing in the game.

Perhaps he is just that sort of guy. Certainly having a bit of an edge to him helps him be a top player, and Poch has mentioned before he doesnt want to dull that edge too much - this is part of the same conversation IMO.

Personally I dont condone it. I like honesty in a player, as well as aggression. I remember Zokora diving for a pen once and the entire fanbase were infuriated by it, I was proud of that.

For me 'having an edge' is about that extra bit of aggression. Diving is a different thing altogether and is cheating. It doesnt just harm his rep, it harms the club and could cost us on the pitch....

Sorry if this have been posted before, but is that a dive at all? When I see the replay, I see a guy standing up directly after he has been on the ground. No begging towards the ref, no hands out or similar, he just walk way.

If thats a dive, there are thousands of dives during each match.

So you think a player doesnt dive unless he appeals for it?! He probably didnt because he knew as soon as he did it that was clearly no contact - maybe he was hoping the defender was going to touch him. If I remember correctly a short while after he was laughing with one of Huddersfield defenders, probably about what a blatant/bad dive it was...

I've said before, he is one of only a few that does BOTH cheating and the snidey aggressiveness side. There are lots that do one or the other, but both, not many.

Suarez, Costa are two and we all love to hate them, and i'm sure there are plenty of opposition fans that will pile on the hate for Alli. We're gonna love him all the time he wears our shirt, but the more something happens i do find myself thinking he's tinged with being a bit of a bellend. But of course, deliver the magic and we see past it.

He does appear to almost have a tic with the diving.

For me it sounds unlogical to dive if don't have any intention with it.

Or he didn't even try to dive, who knows?

At least it wasn´t worth a yellow.

He did have intention! There was absolutely no reason to go down, no contact, nothing to throw him off balance even. The whistle never went for a pen, and he didnt try to appeal because he knew it was a blatant dive and didnt even react when getting the yellow if I remember correctly. Just because some are stupid enough to try and appeal when the ref doesnt blow his whistle, doesnt mean its not a dive when you dont appeal.....

Does anyone remember one that Bale did?
Can't remember who against - it was 25yards out with the GK running towards him.
It was a cross between a dive and ridding a challenge (ie if the GK hadn't checked his run he'd have been totally wiped out).
That ridding of a challenge has been developed to really draw fouls the past 5years and that was what Dele did. And I think that's a really fine line "predicting contact" Vs "going down from impact".
I think Dele went too far and it was cheating.

I am really torn on this.

On one hand diving should be outlawed and dealt wit more than it has been.

But we really are the only top club that doesn't do it and benefit from it....

Chelsea/Arsenal/City/United/Pool are stacked full of divers and they don't care.

Who? I like to consider myself an unbiased fan and dont see anyone dive or for want of a softer term 'try and buy fouls' more than Dele in the league (granted I see more of Dele than any other teams' players). He is now really being highlighted, and I dont believe this is just an anti Dele crusade and players at other big clubs also wouldnt get singled out if doing the same - see Suarez and Costa.....

Alli's attitude will hold him back, this is the third time this season he's done something like this already.

Hazard/Pedro/Sanchez/Rashford/Sterling/Mane/Sturridge among others all love a dive.

I don't watch an Arsenal game without a dive

Will have to disagree - I dont see any of them at Dele's level of consistency in diving at all personally....
