OMT: Everton vs Mighty Spurs

The only thing i would say to that is IF he improves and becomes a important part of our side do you REALLY believe that ALL his distractors will admit they were wrong. Not a chance.
I wonder if there are any still holding out from admitting they were wrong about HK?

There is that word again, the one thing you are not doing is being objective about Sissoko you have made that clear to everyone. :D

The one thing i am not going to do mate is get involved in debate about stats with you, been there, done that got the tee shirt you are obsessed with them. The problem with stats is they make some folks fail to see past the end of their noses. ( hint). :p

We will disagree.

You know the Earth is round(ish) and more than 6,000 years old, right?

He's objectively less good at it than most on the team though.

Ok we're getting somewhere. Slightly better than the 'spaz off the leg' remark.

Now, he's a physical player, bought for his physicality. Quite frankly I expect him to not be as good at passing as most other players except for Wanyama.

I saw similar arguments for buying Benteke a little while ago. They were poor reasoning then and they still are now.

Well that was why he was bought, Poch was pretty much quoted as such. After the Liverpool 1-1 draw at home last year he talked of needing someone physical to break the lines and give the opposition something different to think about. It's taken a while, but Sissoko is now showing that.

Sorry to step in on your dance @scaramanga but I just wanted to say that Wanyama is a decent passer and got progressively more adventurous in his passing as last season went on.

I get that it's why he was bought - I think that Poch is wrong in both his reasoning and his choice of player. He's especially wrong in picking that player against teams we can pass around - like Everton.

Happy with the performance and the win. But we cannot get too excited as this is against Everton with whom we have excellent record against. Everton were so poor that we didn't even need to work hard for the win. In fact, we could have won by a bigger score if we had been more clinical.

Glad to see Kane getting his first goals of the season. His first goal was a lucky goal but his second was typical Kane goal. Wish he had managed to score the hattrick though. Credit also to Eriksen for getting his first goal of the season. But really wish Eriksen can score from freekicks though. Alli had a quiet game and even wasted an open goal which he should have scored. A bit dissapointed that Llorent didn't play any part in this match.

Was worried about our midfield without Wanyama but fortunately Everton didn't really test us. Sissoko had a surprisingly good match and was unlucky not to score at least 1 goal. Maybe Everton were too shocked to see Sissoko playing well ! Too bad he didn't score a goal as that would have boosted his confidence.

Nice to see us keeping the clean sheet even if Everton didn't attack much. Sanchez was calm in defence despite making his debut. Ofcourse it really helped him to play alongside Vertonghen and Alderweireld.

We have now won both our away matches this season but yet to win at home. We need to use this win to improve our performance and result at Wembley.
