Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

This is where we'll be drinking our beer in the future:

Ooh I do like a bit of polished concrete. I'm going to strip off and frot against that in circa 1 year from now. You can watch if you like, but no pictures and no custard.

South Stand structure seems to be progressing more and now is more or less out to the South West corner. Will be interested to see what happens in hole which has been preprared right in that corner - lot of work seems to have gone into it. Might of course just be for whatever will be below ground level once completed. Also re the South stand - I'm assuming that all the prep work / mechanics for the retractable pitch which has been going on for a couple months must be nearing completion given that started to build the south stand and soon that will need to extend out and over some of those things which are put in for the retractable pitch?

Separately, if you look at the camera on the north stand, does anyone know why they have laid out what looks like planks of wood all the way across the pitch and about say 15-20 metres down the length of the pitch?

I hate how the stands are wavey at the top. It's the same as the emirates. Looks crap
Well, there are very logic reasons for that. Without it, the stadium would have to either

A) be significantly smaller/less capacity
B) have a lot of restricted view seats

I prefer option a and b ... it will get less fans moaning about stuff like wavey stands because more than one team also did their research into stadium architecture.

But to be fair in ideal world we should have just combined dortmund and Bayerns stadium ...

I agree that it looks crap, but yeah, there's a reason for it. We'll get used to it. And blue seats indeed. :)

I'm wondering how much of a White Hart lane feeling we'll eventually get from the new stadium. I'm hoping and counting on levy to know the importance of getting the details right to give fans this sort of feel. I'm actually quite confident it'll "feel" like an evolved White Hart lane eventually. :)

Not sure either of these are true, but it would be rectangular instead of oval, and have more seats further from the pitch.

I don't like the 'wavey' look either. I get it's necessary and I'm not complaining, just wish the corners were more 'filled in'

I think that's just to allow them sufficient space to store a lot of the components for roof structure assembly and then put them together.

why is it necessary?
Take a paper plate and scrunch it up at the sides like a stadium... what happens to the surface area? it's reduced (because the 'extra' material has been folded back on itself.) To retain the full capacity of the open paper plate you have to allow for the 'peaks' at the top of the stands, hence creating the wavy effect. It's explained a lot better on SkyScraperCity forum in numerous ways, but this one made most sense to me... :)

That's as clear as mud!
