Daniel Levy - Chairman

It is odd because he has been here so long but that video message he did brought it home to me that he really is a fan at heart.

The thing about being a custodian resonated and I hope when it comes time for him to leave he passes it on to someone who takes it as seriously. This comes from someone who took many years to get over the Jol sacking.

I think that when it does come time to pass it on he will make sure that its to a owner who has the same plan/dreams as he has. I have said in the past when they was a small minority of fans wanting a bored billionaire ( or similar) to take over our club that i would walk away, i do not want this great club to become a plaything or a status symbol for some self important nobody with more interest in their own self promotion then what is good for the club. Thankfully with Levy at the helm i do not see that happening.

I know you know this, and I know you know that I know I know this.

But Cheatski were bought by Ken Bates for £1 in 1982 and he lavishly spent money he didn't have until 2003 when they were £80m in debt which was a HUGE amount. Just look at Leeds. They gambled massively to achieve what they did, buying and paying players that they couldn't afford. They were bankrupt and should have disappeared back into the marshes. But they didn't, as we know. They have been cheating for 25 years now.
 
It's a reminder of how as a chairman when we are selling players Levy is the best negotiator and will get the best deal for our club - I wouldn't swap him for anyone else.

On the flip side, I saw those two signings as trying to get into the top 4 on the cheap with average players which may have turned out to be a master stroke but the odds were heavily stacked against it.

Another one to mention is Frazier Campbell.

Levy has learnt from most of his mistakes but it's taken a while

He's definitely made mistakes, no doubt. But is he particularly unusual in that? It's a genuine question. We see things through a Spurs prism, obviously. But, leaving aside the financially doped clubs for whom mistakes are far more easily smoothed over, has Levy made many more transfer errors than his peers?

Everyone makes mistakes and Levy is no different then the rest of us, ( personally i thought he was wrong to sack managers too quickly) but at the end of the day we would not be where we are if not for his vision. This club have come from the depths of mediocracy ( when he arrived) to where we stand now on the cusp of some very good things about to happen

Some folks say its taken too long but seeing how far we had dropped behind the top clubs and the fact that both Chelski and City have been financially doped during that time he has worked wonders, the problem with some fans is that they want instant glory and it can not be done over night, i guess that is the world we now live ie " i want it and i want it now".

As well he should. Every player and his dog has a 50-100mil price tag these days so that's near a billion in playing staff, and that is before you add in the new training ground and stadium. 3 billion might swing it. ;)
 
The Zuckerberg link seems very tenuous. It's an investment company that has funded Facebook inc in the past. But of course the connection and the name makes a good headline. Regardless, the club have put out an official statement that they are not in discussions.
The Club engaged Rothschild to secure the funding for the new stadium. As expected many proposals came forward including bank debt and equity investment. The Club announced on 31 May 2017 the completion of the bank debt financing for the new stadium with a consortium of banks involving Bank of America Merrill Lynch International Limited, Goldman Sachs Bank USA and HSBC Bank plc. The Board believes this was the optimum solution in the interests of fans, employees and shareholders and for the continued development of the Club. The Board is not in any discussions relating to a takeover offer for the Club.

Don't think it's ludicrous to suggest someone may be interested in buying spurs. You just have to see what is going on with us today and really the future.

As with any investment company they would have seen that tottenham currently is a sound business with heaps of potential.

The fact that we are in the premier league as an established perrenial London team to boot! If you are looking at a premium knowing that you will make a ROI guaranteed then tomorrow the price is only going to go higher.

Any one looking to invest in the premier league with huge funds ... there is only one club that stands out to have the potential to be the biggest. That is us.

If we brought the players poch needs to win the title they woulod have been brought already. But we are currently forced to okay the hand given to us in the transfer market. No guarantees that we would win the title but it would increase our chances for sure.

Whatever happens i hope levy stays on for a long time yet ... with or without the current owner.

The difference between us and the Villa's, West Hams, Leeds of the world - Levy

His vision of the club made us a strong unit that could and does compete with the best in the country, from where we were 20 years ago to where we are now that is no mean feat and made even more impressive when you look at where the clubs around us are now. His vision of sustainable football and being comfortable to sell your stars and replace is why we are where we are.

20 years ago we were signing so called Marque players on their way down, some clubs around us still do that (West Ham - Zabaletta) where we changed that and went young and long term.

No Levy No 2nd, simple

Imagine levy on roids as in a bigger budget to play with. It seems like a contradiction but we would possibly be able to tweak our current transfer strategy and perhaps sign the few premium players we need to win trophies.

Very good points and i do agree, i think the problem with some of our younger supporters who were not around in the 90's is that they do not know/appreciate how low we had sunk as a major club and without the likes of City/Chelski being financially doped we would be in a even better position.

We were in a terrible state, I remember Barnsley away and Colin Calderwood scoring to get a draw that gave us a platform to stay up.

I agree with the young fans part, I also think they look at the teams around us now like Emirates Marketing Project, United and Chelsea and expect us due to league position be out there spending 60m on a player/
