Eric Dier

I havent given up on a dirty weekend with Selena Gomez but sometimes you just have to be realistic.

That could probably be arranged for less than it would cost to buy Dier.

Some RedCafe gems:

I really hope this doesn't happen, don't rate him at all. Think he is painfully average at everything.

Why buy him when we have Blind that can play the roles and probably better than Dier. We should aim higher than that.

I'm sorry but Dier is not on the level we should be looking for.

I think Dier would do very well, particularly with Mourinho coaching him.

Young players who come up at a smaller club like Spurs more often than not kick on when they move to the top level.

I'd prefer Ndidi from Leicester even. Does a similar job but with higher workrate and hes only 20 years old. Wouldnt be surprised if he outshines him next season.

Then theres Gueye who has shown his quality

Dier is slower than me. We can do better than him, surely

He is not worth more than 25m or 30m. 50m or even more is insane, if Fabinho is begging for a 40m move. Hopefully Spurs tell us to feck off for our own good or ask 70m and we walk away.

In their Dier or Matic thread

Drinkwater is a better bet than Dier.

Neither, so won't vote. They're both smokescreens anyway.

I feel a bit ambivalent about this. I think £50m for Dier is crazy money. And I think he could be replaced. The main issue is that, with Walker going too, we are breaking up a great team spirit and opening up the possibility Alli, Kane and Alderweireld also leaving.

Nonsense. Our back 3 is based around Dier's flexibility. It would cost at least £30M to replace him, and then a bedding in transition. Plus, they probably want him in order to lure Dele.

I know, our whole team is going to leave and we'll be stuck with a bunch of kids and has-beens, a massive white elephant of a stadium being built that I have heard won't pass inspection so we'll have to ground share with MK Dons and thusly I have SERIOUS RELEGATION FEARS.

Dier is a better CB than Stones and he went for how much? The fact he can play RB and midfield and also the fact he is English add's another £20m on top of that. Also his age comes into it. 100m in todays market taking everying into consideration.
