Europa League 2016/17

As long as they are winning stuff I don't think they will really care.

For a club that hasn't won much in since Enic has taken over, we are precious about style of play in finals.

I guess the question is would you take United seasons over ours?

Think I would, for all the goals and good football we didn't win anything

I wouldn't. They've spent a fortune to stand still. We're building something and have moved on considerably this season. The trophies will come for us but I want us to establish ourselves so that we are in contention for a generation, United's season does not set them up for that.

Moaninho is great at game management, one of the very best. Two cups and in the CL, I wouldn't complain if i was a manyoo supporter, but we are obviously the better team, but no cups (yet) to show for it.

Ajax just couldn't figure a way past their back line, real lack of game management by the manager on the big stage.

Can you trust Levy and Lewis to set us up for a generation on the field?

Seen very good teams start to fall apart without winning anything

They've won two trophies and that's what it's all about. It's our lack of trophies that rival fans like to taunt us about. Yes we are the more attractive side but it's about being winners. Ultimately the best players are more likely to go to the team that's wins honours too.

I get that they'll see it as a means to an end in the short term but Mourinho is never going to give them expansive football. I think that they'll tire of it quickly.

indeed, but it's a end that requires such means, they are fully aware of how liverpool fudged it up for so long and avoiding that is the most important thing

But does that matter it was earlier?

We are now below them in the seeding

I would love a trophy!! Anyone!!

no, but our season made it more likely, i'd take securing a qualification position over it coming down to 90 mins every time

we lost to west ham a couple of weeks ago, anything can happen in a one of game

am I right in thinking he's never lost a european final?

It's about a winning mentality, teams like United win things. Until we start winning things we can't be so choosey. Would people really rather finish 4th than win cups? What sort of memories are they?

Trophy all the way, this is Manchester United) the biggest team in our country. They look delighted with winning the Europa yet some of us couldn't care less for it? Incredible.

I can understand what you are saying. I'm very happy with our season, we've been brilliant in the league.

However winning trophies is special. Utd, despite being rubbish in the last few years, have won the Fa Cup, League cup and the EL and it is a tad annoying ......We have had good sides in the last 7 or 8 years and haven't won a sausage. It's just unfortunate I guess.

Is it not more likely they are delighted with qualifying for the CL?

I bet they are all getting a massive bonus too.

No disrespect to the victims and their families, and it was horrible and a massive tragedy, but can I suggest that tonight's game of football has nothing to do with the terrorism that occured a couple of days ago?

They've done a good job of it so far, we have been on an upward trajectory since Jol and the club is now in the strongest health its been for decades. Will we hold onto all of our players for ever? No. But that does not matter as long as we spend the proceeds wisely and continue to develop.

If they had been in genuine contention for a top four place, you would have seen Mourinho put out very different teams in the Europa.

He's never lost a final in normal time, apparently. Ridiculous. Winner. BUT his style of management is more practical, than style. And reality is, to win things, you need to be able to do that, but he has had very able resources to do that. Let him try doing that at say, Crystal Palace. Or Conte. Or Pep. They will always go the club with the biggest resources.
