***OMT Tottenham Hotspur v sunlun***

In the league games, it might be my imagination, but Son seems to give us more off the bench than when he starts.
Yep I agree with that. I don't have anything to back that up except my almost GHod like knowledge of all things football. Better as a sub.

To be honest, when the lads came out of the tunnel they looked cold and miserable and were looking at the disabled mascot and feeling a bit damp and lifeless and sorry for themselves.

There wasn't any pumped up hype and spunk, just a bunch of cold lads oop north, willing to partake in a game of football.

The Cheats have won the title now, barring some sort of major collapse, so we need to fight with the rest.

Anyone heard any news on Rose? Losing him for 2-3 months would be far worse in my view than dropping a ocuple points
It didn't look too bad. He seemed very eager to come off rather than to try to run it off. Maybe he didn't want to contribute to sending Sunderland down. He should be back on Saturday.

If Rose is out for weeks/months I suppose we'll go to 3 at the back and play "someone" on the left, not Ben Davies

Still think a top 3 finish will be a great season and will cement us a team that can do that regularly. Another couple of players as other options in key positions and we really will be ready to push for the title.

For me now, I want us to finish in the top 3 again, above Arsenal and win the cup. That would be a fantastic season. If Chelsea do slip up, we won't press the advantage, so I hope they batter the goons.

I agree. After knowing we had drawn I actually thought a late Chelsea winner tonight might do us good too. Yes, it defeatist, but I think more realist, I honestly cant see us turning round a 9pt deficit over a team with less matches to worry about.
So yes, Chelsea you might as well and do us a favour and batter all our rivals and help us for a change

Eh. He played the full game against Wycombe, and he grew steadily less responsive to our moves as this game went on. I think he wouldn't have made much of a difference, and, truth be told, if we did end up getting a goal, it wouldn't really have reflected the ebb and flow of the game.

Lamela coming back will help in terms of strengthening our ability to bring some creative talent off the bench. Maybe N'Koudou as well, once he returns from his own injury.

This wasn't a bad point, it was just an opportunity lost in terms of getting three.

Eh?

He came on as a sub second half, got an assist, won a pen and scored.

3 of our next 4 league games are at home, so I think we will (hopefully) consolidate our position in the top four.

This.

If we could pick up 10pts from the next 4 matches we would be in a great position in the battle to be the best of the rest

Yeah. I never had silly dreams about the title, so I'm not remotely fussed about what Chelsea do or don't do. But if we get between 73 and 76 points this season, as I think we're capable of doing, then we will have had a good season, and a good final year at the Lane. We're still on course for that tally.

Oh, and win a trophy. We need to do that too, to send WHL off the way she deserves to be sent off - smiling on silverware, for the last time.

Think we have

Son/Lamela
Winks
Davies
Trippier
Wimmer - sometimes!

Who are decent replacements - however after that it's a bit sub par - and one of those is an attacker

does any PL club have a strong bench?

arsenals bench tonight was full of average, likewise liverpool, chelseas was a who's who of exciting names from 7/8 years ago, the bench of the reigning champions was half full of players i'd never heard of

i'd take our bench over any other named tonight, no question

Think we should just forget about the title. It will be incredibly hard to get top 4. By tomorrow it could be 3 points between 2nd and 6th!

I think we can get top 4 simply because I don't think there are 4 sides better than us. Chelsea are clearly more consistent, and that will very likely win them the league. But, imo, we are a better all-round team than any of the rest.

Sissoko is a joke of a footballer.

I don't understand it myself.

Think we may regret not getting another head in this window

He didn't have much chance today. I think was the wrong sub. We needed quick footed players to play intricate balls down the side of the box, then across goal. Winks would have been more effective. Sissoko needs space to run into.

Sissoko has made some game changing contributions this season. I just think today I forward players just had an off day. Can't put my finger on why.
He's not a footballer. He's big and strong and can run quite fast in a straight line, but he can't do much with a football. He got a vital assist at home to Burnley on a counter-attack when he got space to run in, but when teams sit deep, he has nothing to offer. No creativity, clumsy and just a complete waste of a player.
