The London Taxpayers' Stadium Shambles

I know that you're in construction and I should've acknowledged that in my last post. What we've been told is different.

It was a temporary structure. The only semi permanent part was the main stand area. No lower tier or roof. That's all been replaced

It's a fecking sham of a job IMO. The cost is more than a new stadium would have cost in reality.

They have Laos built offices, suites etc... And toilets for the scummers

The o2 was built the same way with a membrane roof but I don't know how their keeping that going

They even didn't allow for normal drainage or power as was temporary. Don't know what they have done about that

It was so bad they didn't have anywhere to go down for the temporary seats... Hence why it's costing them £8m

Yeah. I had a tour of the O2/millennium stadium construction site too and share your surprise.

Just reading these last few post I'm gobsmack as to the temporary nature of the whole construction.

Eco warriors and planning issues

If it's temporary no one complains even if it costs a shed load of £££

The Ciry of Manchester was brilliant and well planned from the start. We even had a special high lift crane built for putting in the lower tier seats after the games. All well thought out and organised

London is part of the problem.... Too much money and never enough time

Yeh 8m each way, each time the do it

That is just bonkers. Are they even making that back on the events in between!? After costs of those events and giving a cut to promoters/ artists etc. how much is left over and above the £16 million? Any?

I suppose its a concern that it is so unworkable, wham might get to knock it down and build a purpose built stadium as Levy wanted all along.

Then Daniel says oh no you can't we did not win the tender because it has to stay as an athletics stadium. compensation please.
