Ryan Mason

Any news n his injury an whether he'll be available for the Norwich and/or Watford games?
He could be crucial in this busy period and imo it'd be great to have him back..

Sorry if posted elsewhere but he needs injections daily at the moment his ankle has swollen up again. Small op is probably required but the club are deciding whether to do it now or wait till the end of the season. Not great either way.

Can he play with the injections Roy?

Should do it now while Dier, Alli, Bentaleb and Carroll are all fit. I want him to go to the Euros instead of Wiltshire.

What and be a squad player!!!

He needs to play now or be In The squad

The euros are gonna be a disaster for us as a club as we will have half the England squad at this rate and half the Belgium squad (I am exaggerating) which means even less rest than last season for Kane for example

If he does need a operation then it should be done now, we do not need him to play as we have plenty of options in M/F.

I'm not part of the club's physio department but I do wince upon hearing of the need for injections, I'm with Gutterboy, if there's an op needed then get it sorted rather than possibly aggravating the injury. Best to be able to play at 100% via natural methods I think.

Really didn't see such a stop start season with Mason and Bentaleb, but obviously so much down to injury, hoping to see young Nabil getting back in to the swing of things soon as we'll need him.

Shame...

With pinter and GB on this, think an op might be a good idea. Not the worst time for it with Carroll doing well, Bentaleb fit (if not match fit) and Dembele doing really well. Mason back fully fit 1-2 months down the line could be a lot more valuable to us than him playing through pain and with injections for those 1-2 months.

I think Poch and the team are more progressive/scientific on things like this than some of our recent coaches

I believe he can play with injections but his ankle has ballooned again so won't be playing soon going by what I heard. I think the club want to hold out til summer for an op.

Any idea how long he'd be out for if he were to have surgery now?

Can't see it's been reported anywhere but the club have instructed him to have cortisol injections which he's now had. I don't agree personally. Expected back in ten days and light running this week.

Ahh man, real shame. I've such high hopes for Mason. Gives us such drive from midfield. Hope we manage his injuries well.

Responded well to the injection. He's being put through a mini pre season so lots of cardio and strengthening and conditioning. Hoping to be back next weekend.

Thanks Roy - appreciate the updates

Do you know if this means he might not need the op in the summer now, or is that inevitable?
