Why is Dier constantly playing in midfield? Terrified he's going to stick with him against Man U, doesn't look right at all.

Think we're playing pretty well, but Milan look so flat. Onomah, decent acceleration and eager, but he looks well out of his depth.

Davied and Trippier look good, I really think our defence is in pretty excellent shape actually, the two back fours. Just need to sort that midfild, Attacking midfielders and strikers...

Not a bad half with our second string vs their second string. We managed to cut them open way more often than Madrid and if we had some goalscorers out there who knows what the score would be. Onomah and Carroll could've done better. I think Onomah has got better as the half has gone on, but he's not ready for the league yet. I think we have looked a little disjointed at times and the defence looks as porous as last year, which really impresses on me how much stability Alderweireld has added just in pre-season.

Decent first half. Milan aren't putting up much of a fight, but this is hardly our first team either; so that's encouraging.

Lamela is disappointing again. Every time I watch him I half-expect that "this will be the one"... the match where he suddenly stops the silly errors and starts to fulfil his potential. Ah well, it's better that it happens in a competitive fixture I suppose.

Chadli's goal was nice, and he's been decent all half. Carroll's made some mistakes, but has also had some good moments - a couple of great passes - so a mixed bag from him. Trippier's been very good, both in defence and going forward. I know all the stats say that crosses aren't effective, but it's still nice to have a great crosser of the ball at Spurs. Takes me back to Roy of the Rovers :)

McGee has been excellent. Cool under pressure and stopped a couple of decent shots. First time I've really taken notice of him, but it's a good first impression.

Dier still not impressing in CM. Bentaleb looking more like a Great Player every day. Vertonghen and Fazio got caught out a couple of times - something's still not right with our defence. Hopefully it'll come.

Onomah's looked decent, as has Davies (though he's not had much defending to do down that side).

Any relation?

Haven't seen much of Spurs this summer but I like the look of Trippier looks very solid and also good going forward.
