The problem is that some fans use stats not to support their argument but to try and prove their argument is right, there is nothing wrong in using stats the fault is in thinking that the stats prove they are right. And once again I will say stats do not tell the full story in most instances.
People get " bent out of shape" when those fans who do that think that stats are the full story, they are not.
Well anyone that bases their argument soley on stats is niave - but that's a rarity as far as i can see.
Ade is in a contract year which means he will score 35 goals, so for that reason, if an offer comes in for either player, we may have to listen to offers for Soldado first.
To be fair to Burt, I think that this has been what he has been saying since we first signed him.
Will Levy be able to repeat his selling exploits with Paulinho and do a double take with a good price for Soldado (or even a hat trick with Ade)?
If he does, he will truly be a genius
Lots of Soldado in preseason pics and videos ... all the bobby haters may be in for another season of venting ...
That is a terrifying prospect.I suspect we will see him lining up against United in a month's time. Harry's season finished later than most of our other lads, and any new striker we sign will need time to adapt to the league (if he's coming in from outside of it, which is what I suspect will happen). I think Soldado will get one more shot to start a Spurs season off well against United, given those realities.
That is a terrifying prospect.
I'd love this to be true but Bobby's problems are all in his own mind at this stage. His confidence is shot to hell. I just can't see him digging himself out of this hole.I think if Tripper starts, we might just see Soldado thrive.
I know where you are coming from. I like the guy myself but his problems will not be cured on the training ground or on the pitch on match day. The guy was a fantastic player who is now questioning his own ability. I think the club would do well to get him talking to a sport psychologist regularly.I tend to agree with monkeybarry: If someone like Trippier feeds in accurate crosses for Soldado to work with, I still feel he'll thrive. I don't know, maybe it's just me refusing to write off a player who seems genuinely likeable and works his socks off whenever he plays, bad luck and worse finishing notwithstanding.

I was watching him warm up in the Europa league against ...hmmm... I can't remember actually, and he stayed out to practise a few shots with the reserve keeper after everyone else had disappeared down the tunnel. He pinged about 10-15 shots into the corners of the goal. Beautiful technique, striking right through the ball. Then he shanked one left, and then another and another and another. About 8 of his next 10 shot went left.
I see something similar with young players when they are forcing the shot, not confident in their own ability and trying to power the shot in rather place it. You would think a pro like Soldado would be above this type of thing but obviously not. If Soldado found his Valencia form again I would be amazed and delighted in equal measures.
