Harry Kane MBE

It would be no exaggeration that Kane will save the club £30-40m. As that's what he will be worth in a few season's time I'm sure.

Some might argue that Kane is already on course to save Spurs £40m this season... \o/

@OptaJoe: 15 - Alexis Sanchez now has 15 goals in all competitions for Arsenal this season, level with Tottenham's Harry Kane. Rivals.

Harry Kane makes Garth Crooks' Team of the Week

STRIKER - Harry Kane (Tottenham)

This 21-year-old Tottenham striker just can't stop scoring goals.

His first-half opener against Leicester helped Spurs to a third straight league win for boss Mauricio Pochettino.

It was Kane's 13th goal in his last 18 matches.

I said after Tottenham's victory over Swansea that chairman Daniel Levy could do much worse than offer this lad a long-term contract because if he doesn't, someone else will.

I didn't see any close ups of his goal, but it looked like an excellent first touch to control the ball and set it up for the finish. Or did I see it wrongly?

Regardless, fantastic season for Kane so far, he's improved so much this season. I have no doubt he'll continue his hard work as well, so if he stagnates, it certainly won't be for lack of effort. Very excited to see how his season pans out after this great start.

Let's also not forget that this run of goals and performances did not come out of nowhere. Remember last season when he scored 3 in 6 starts at the end of year and generally looked like a solid, useful player for us. More and more signs point to the fact that he has real real potential

Nipped on to this thread to say pretty much that. Finally saw the goal on MotD, and it was a superb finish - made space between two defenders, great first touch, followed by a clear-headed finish. The sort of goal Keano would score.

Good ball in from Chadli, but Kane had plenty left to do.

There's only one Kane-o!

Somewhat mi**** ball from Chadli I thought. Looked like he tried to play it harder in between the goalie and the defender, mi**** it slightly behind Kane. Kane did really well, reacted quicker than the defender and showed great balance whilst turning to get the ball, perfect first touch to set it up and a composed finish. Not an outstanding goal overall, he made it look easy in fact, but very well taken.

He was on loan at Leicester so maybe they were baiting him a little. He did well to out manoeuvre the centre back - who should have done better but was committed to a ball closer to the goal. Kane was able to nip around the defender who'd weight was all wrong for the pass from Chadli. Actually Lamela's pass to Chadli was better than Chadli's to set up the goal. Kane may have done better with a few other attempts but the way he made that goal when the pass was off, improvised, and was move agile than the defender...that made the goal.

That was a wonderful finish against Leicester. One touch with the right took it away from thedefender and then bang, quick as flash he buried the ball in the net with his left

Seriously a classy goal. Wow

Surprised they have him flack, normally fans welcome back former players. Notable exceptions, eg Campbell, Berbatov but on the whole very few get anything but respectful applause when their name is read out.

He scored after only a minute but already needed to respond to something with a sssshhhhh celebration !

what if the cross from chadli was a good cross? would he have gotten to it?

I hate the sssshhhh celebration. Henry did it all too often and I think it's classless.

Can you get odds for PFA Young Player of the Year? At this rate, Harry would be a chance.

Am I right in thinking it all gets voted on around now as well?

Yes, I think all the PFA members get sent the ballot forms around Christmas / New Year.

That idiot 'Saggers' on TS reckons he's been speaking with Pleat, and Peat reckons that Kane's been working on his pace and they're all impressed at how it's improved.

Not sure how you work on pace exactly - I guess you can work on technique and strength but you're always going to be limited by the amount of fast twitch fibres you have, but anyhow, good to hear he's working hard to improve his overall game.

Not true at around 18 i developed an extra yard through constant hill training, weights and drills to get the feet moving quick. Of course he can never be like Henry but he is perhaps now using all of the pace that he has been given.
