I think bony is too strong for one. The gap between the centre halves is too great imo. They need to be closer together.

Bony seems to look for crosses, the defenders take their eyes off of him & concentrate on the cross. At this point, Bony moves further behind them to give himself extra space. The defenders don't move and so no one has Bony marked.

please bear in mind this is effectively his first season in the PL. What he does well is track back.

if you are having a poor game you just have to keep your head down and keep working. everyone can accept that it doesnt happen for every player every game - hence the support soldado receives. but when you're having a mare like lamela today and you start running the risk of getting yourself sent off and compounding the performance by fooking your team mates over then its just completely unacceptable.
 
Wouldn't be surprised to see one of our players sent off. The pitch must be slippery very easy to mistime a tackle in those conditions.

And its not just today
 
Missed most of the half. But the same old thing where the back 4 runs towards the goal leaving lots of room for a free striker - still going on.

How have we played?
 
we dont deserve to be leading here. strangely hugo hasnr had to make that many saves. theres no way we'll get through the whole of the second half playing like this.

Apparently teams very rarely score from crosses, a cultured team would not cross the ball so Swansea will not get back into this because they are trying to many crosses.

He is running at the defence , that's why... His routine is to head towards the penalty box and that's what he does.

The alternative is to what Ade does... Take the ball to the wing safely and allow the defence to get behind the ball.

Also mind the rain... It takes benefits the energetic and nullifies the skillful. Bony has missed "sitters" and has looked s h i t e so far
 
Apart from the goal and a bit of possession at the start we have been pretty toothless again. Bony could have had a hat trick on another day. Really need to improve in the second half or one of these through balls is goinf to result in a goal.
