Harry Kane MBE

100% true. If Ade has been terrible for 12 months and had one good game all you would hear is 'one swallow doesn't make a summer'

Because it's soldado he now has to start at all costs. I fear for him on sunday - Kane should be our starter on Sunday all day long

The fact that you come out with complete bs like Soldado not playing a single decent game last season to support your opinion, one could almost suspect some kind of agenda.

I think if I had to choose I would pick Kane over Soldado if its to be one or the other.

Still dont see why this has to be so complicated though. We need to 'get at Saudi Sportswashing Machine' if Soldado played well as no9 and Kane as no 10 then lets play them in those positions. Again I keep saying it but I think Eriksen would be effective as our cm with a suitable midfielder with prescence beside him to offset Eriksens game....namely Capoue....that may be harsh on Mason who doesnt really deserve to be dropped. Eriksen out wide does not do it for me and he wont help the fullback defensively, Either way it means we have Eriksen, Lamela Kane & Soldado as decent technical players and we keep Chadli. Thats 5 attack minded outfield players offset against 5 defensive players, and would be a lovely balance imo.

Sorry to sound like a broken record but I feel passionate that we would excel and excite with that set up, and I see Eriksen becoming a creative cm.

Oh fcuk me!](*,). Every point you've put there has been discussed and thrown back at you in the soldado thread, if you chose not to listen to them then there's no helping you! Player plays well, team looks better as an attacking unit with him in it, it really is as simple as that!

These petty ****in player biases are pathetic and ruining this forum.

Yeh, I was just pointing it out though as a few had said he should be played as the striker, that Soldado has actually played well in his most recent game and probably deserves a run of games also. So there's literally not anywhere in the front 4 where he could be slotted in without someone somewhere having something to say.

I really don't think that it is in his best long term interests to chop and change the position he plays. He has performed brilliantly behind the striker and surely, if we want to make his transition to the first team as smooth as possible, that is where he should get games.

Im the first to admit I have'nt been Kane's biggest fan, but you simply cant drop a player after a european hat trick. It would be a total huge kick in the teeth for him. He will be riding high on confidence, whereas Soldado's is shot to pieces.

Bar soton at home and 3 decent performances - tell me when he played well?

You have to understand I am neither an Ade or a soldado fan. The bias I see towards soldado is frightening - any excuse to find something positive (quite endearing really if it wasn't for the vitriol aimed at others)

I had to same heated arguments about paulinho and it is only know the penny has dropped with that one. The same will happen with soldado sooner rather than later.

Next year Kane, benteke and Rodriguez for me (Daniel can we have 40m please?)

What bias are you talking about? All anyone has said is that soldado played well, we looked better as a team going forward and so he should start the next game. I'm sorry but your mind(and many others) is already made up on soldado, no matter how he plays you won't want him in the side, that is the definition of bias.

Go and look back at the last 5 pages of the Ade and soldado threads, heck go back 20 pages.

The same people who call Ade **** or a disgrace to the shirt are the same ones who eloquently try to put forward points on soldado and how he hypothetically suits a certain system or personnel. Look back at goal scoring records and assists over the past year and see who is clutching at straws. The guy is a vice capt for a reason, yet still you get unfounded comments on his personality and attitude that no one can say unless you are part of the squad.

Your right when I say I have pretty much given up on soldado ever consistently doing anything for us. I was pleasantly surprised by sat and feel he should be considered again, even though he missed a pen and great chance to equalise. I can see that he linked well, but against Saudi Sportswashing Machine you need to be able to go direct or else they will soak us up.

I think there's equally as much bias against Ade as well, that's why I say it's ruining this forum, petty arguments from the same people for and against their favorite and worst players. It doesn't matter how the players play, the narrative is already set.

I'm not a massive fan of Adebayor or Soldado, though I think Adebayor is better. However, I think Soldado did ok away at City, which is maybe our toughest fixture of the season. So I think he has earnt a start against a more beatable side in Saudi Sportswashing Machine. If he flops, then give Kane a shot, but at least give him that fixture. To do ok against City away and then get thrown out of the team would be pretty harsh. On the flip side, I don't think Kane would be too down on not starting the Saudi Sportswashing Machine game, he knows his time is coming soon.

Think it's completely one sided but anyway let's appreciate one of our own in this thread and look forward to potentially producing a top level forward player for the first time in decades!

It's really not one sided mate, you've spent plenty of time in that soldado thread, you can see the stick he's been getting, you've been giving plenty of it actually, which may be why you're not wiling to see it.

Personally I stand by what I have been saying for a while, Kane deserves a run in the starting line up. Of all the players we have at the moment he looks the greater goal threat

When people say that Kane deserves a run in the starting lineup is that in place of Ade/Soldado? Or in place of eriksen in the centre of the 3 where he has been most effective in the cup games. Seen an argument for dropping chadli and moving eriksen there but isn't chadli our highest scorer in the prem? Personally I'd drop lamela, which after he had a moment of brilliance is going to be controversial, but in the pl in the last two games he has been responsible for giving away 3 goals imo. That's not good enough. I think he's a player that would suit having more time playing in the 'b' side against the so said lesser opponents.

Someone needs to be dropped here and I don't think it should be Chadli or Eriksen so that leaves Soldado and Lamela I don't have a problem with dropping either of them but Kane must start he looks our best goal threat by some distance

Why not eriksen? Chadli is on a scoring streak. Lamela just found his scoring boots and plays well with Kane as we've seen in the recent Europa league match with 5 goals between them. I'd try to build on that.

I think that decisions around Kane should be with an eye on his long term development and not just the next game or his current run of form. For me that means that when he is played in the first team it has to be in the same position he is excelling in for the cup team. I also think that does not mean that he has to start right now. I think that there is no harm in having him on the bench and bringing him on late in games.
