Well I can't speak for Jordinho or Braineclipse but I do see your point too . It's just as I said in my post , I think Bale has his heart set on Real Madrid.

I still think he may not get his wish this summer as I don't think Levy will agree payment on their terms. And if it works out Bale stays for another season, I'm pretty sure he will give us some great performances just as he did last season .

Fingers crossed your right if he stays. I bear him no ill will if he goes as I appreciate that to him it may seem the right ting to do for him and his family. After all said and done...it is only a game after all!

There is one other possible explanation for the quieter news on Bale. Marca could be right that a world record bid has been made and that the clubs are differing on exact amount and payment details. However, if Bale's injury is real, could the clubs have agreed terms and Real don't want to finalise the deal without seeing how it recovers?

Personally I think the deal is agreed in principle and its just the details to sort out. The lump sum £85m or £100 in instalments is plausible (except it comes from Marca). Normally I think Levy would prefer the latter, but the cash flow might be more important with the stadium to be built.

I'd say high, but not back to Spurs. If he came back to England he'd end up at one of Utd, City or Chelsea.

Yeah I would say Bale is almost certain to fail over there. The failure will however be relative to his price tag which will be almost impossible to live up to. And the benchmark against which he'll be judged will be playing in the same team as him. As much as I love Bale (and this is diminishing daily) he is not as good as Ronaldo, and the comparison will be relatively easy to make when both are on show, left and right. It's too much too soon for the young man IMHO

In terms of him returning Levy might shoehorn in a first refusal clause. Anyway Spurs will be the dominate team in the PL by then and so Bale will want to sign for us anyway

I just wonder when/if there will ever be a time where we will find out the truth.......timeline of what happened & when..........

there are even rumours of this being a smoke screen for publicity.....

One day we will know as of now its just guesswork......Ronaldo is definitely uppity though.....mind you he has the talent to back it up.

Totti is another great player, Maldini yet another. I see the point that is being made by you/Jourdinho and Brainclipse, but MLT could have left Southampton, Shearer could have done better that Blackburn...maybe not the best example. I just think if I was earning more money than I could spend, I would see it more of a personal challenge to stay at a progressive club and earn a place in that club's history ,than get lost in the mish mash of another club thrashing about, buying the best players only to stay at the top or thereabouts. If I were MLT I would look back on my carrer and think I'm happy with that. My name is remembered, what will happen to De Maria, Ozil etc?

It's also about a player's comfort zone. Things were a bit different back in Le Tiss' days, players (or more likely agents) weren't chasing money in the same way they do now. The whole mentality of the game has changed.

Shearer became a legend at Saudi Sportswashing Machine though. That was his club, not Blackburn. He could have moved once it became obvious Saudi Sportswashing Machine were going nowhere. Gerrard alledgedly would have if not for certain elements of their fan base.

But those are very few players you mention. I'm sure there are others, but in total that's still a diminishingly small percentage of the number of (good) players in the world.

If that would be enough for you and you think that would be your opinion even when faced with the opportunity to significantly improve your wages, your exposure/fame and your chances to win a trophy then I say good for you. I just wouldn't expect that from anyone really, although if and when someone does it it's a nice surprise of course.

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has told talkSPORT that he believes Gareth Bale is pushing very hard to leave Tottenham Hotspur

His hair too. Plus I've seen various interviews where he's asked who is better between Messi and Ronaldo and he always says Ronaldo. Bale definitely has a man crush on him.

i think Ronaldo would succeed in many different leagues for many different styles of clubs whereas i don't think you could say the same for Messi, possibly... (not that im saying one better than the other)
