Paulinho -José Paulo Bezerra Maciel Júnior

It's crazy that our subs bench will probably consist of players like Holtby, Sigurdsson, Adebayor, and Dempsey.

Why? None of those are good enough to be starters (ie first choice 11) for a top 4 team. None would get in ManU, ManC, cheatski or even arsenal's team so it shouldnt be a surprise that they wouldnt get into our first choice 11

BIG news from @Adam79Suter who is reporting the news Paulinho will wear the number 8 shirt for ourselves. #THFC

Blues centre-back Luiz has no doubts whatsoever that the 24-year-old has all the required attributes to make it in the English top flight next season, saying: “Paulinho is a fantastic player, both defending and attacking.

“He is complete, so he can come to England. It’s a great moment for him.”

[

'It is important for the team and the Brazilian fans that at the moment all my focus is on winning the Confederations Cup - but after the tournament is finished I hope it is a deal that can get finalised quickly,' said Paulinho.

'To play in England for a great team like Tottenham is a dream. What I respect about Tottenham is the ambition they have shown.

'This summer there has been interest in their coach and their best player - and they have been clear they both are not going anywhere.

'When my agent made me aware that Tottenham were interested I knew it would not be a move that I could turn down.

Wish some of the members on this forum would get that through their heads

I know he did, and I was disagreeing with him. Yes its a decent bench but no better than should expect to have if you want to finish top 4. Arsenal's bench would contain Vermaalen, Ramsey, Oxlade Chamblain, Podolski (assuming a mid of Arteta, Wheelchair, [DM] and fowards line of Walnut, Giroud, Cazorla), Cheatski's bench contains Ba, Moses, Mikel, Shurrle, Marin, Cahill,.....

Our bench would be decent but no stronger than you would expect if we want to finish top 4

Entrepreneur Paulinho confirms exit

Giuliano Bertolucci reports that flywheel signed for Tottenham

Paulinho signed for Tottenham and will not defend over Corinthians. The information was given by Giuliano Bertolucci, manager of the player, in an interview with Bradesco Sports FM.

The transfer to Europe had already been announced by Crack Neto last week. Currently, the athlete is serving the Brazilian team in the Confederations Cup.

The English club will pay around 20 million euros (£ 57 million), the value of a penalty fine stipulated by the Corinthians. How has half the rights of the athlete, Timon receive approximately £ 28 million. The other part goes to the Audax-SP, time revealed that the steering wheel.

Paulinho is a target for European clubs since the Libertadores title last year. At the time, the board alvinegra could hold him to compete in the World.

After eliminating the edition of this year's Libertadores, Inter Milan, Roma and Shakhtar Donetsk have expressed interest in the wheel of the Corinthians. Tottenham ran out and came to prominence in the news last week after Neto said the owners of the ball that trading was enshrined.

Paulinho arrived at Corinthians in 2010 contracted with Bragantino. A total of 167 matches with the shirt alvinegra and 34 goals.

Think it's more likely some/all of Parker, Huddlestone and Livermore are leaving before Sigurdsson.

Those guys are not really in Sigg's advanced role. I ain't an expert but Sigg was the subject of a proper bid IIRC in the last window and if P comes..

Paulinho isn't in Sigurdsson's advanced role either. For Corinthians he plays as one of two CMs and for Brazil he's deeper than the more advanced Oscar in a midfield three. I actually think he'll be deeper than Dembele in our midfield three if/when he signs. From what I've seen of him (not too much admittedly) he's a similar in style to Parker/Livermore in that he's all action. He's a massive upgrade on them too.

Just because Sigurdsson was the subject of a bid doesn't mean we'll sell. He gives us a different option, either at the top of a midfield three or maybe even on the left of the front 3. One of the keys to a squad is having not just like for like replacements, but also a variety of options for tactical versatility. Paulinho, Dembele, Holtby and Sigurdsson are all players who offer versatility in their positions. Add that to Carroll and Sandro who are probably a bit less versatile and we have a lot of options for whatever AVB has in store.

I reckon this transfer will see Livermore, Parker and Hudd gone in some way shape or form.

Caroll will replace Huddlestone, Holtby will replace Parker and hopefully Luongo will be in Livermores place.

Just been watching some YouTube videos of this guy I have to say WOW! I know it's YouTube but the amount of clips of him bursting through about 3-4 players in midfield, checking back out and bending a pass out to the wing before bombing into the box to get onto the cross. He's gonna be awesome absolutely awesome
