OMT - Tottenham vs. Lyon

Not a good performance by any means but two fudging quality free kicks from Bale.

Don't know if I'm the only one but I do find it very hard to properly see the game with that camera angle.

I do think the reason we're struggling is that the CM partnership of Parker and Dembele will only work if Parker holds back and keeps it simple and Dembele is on form, which he doesn't seem to be at present.

I fudging love Lewis Holtby though, feisty doesn't do him justice and he has a good touch and awareness. And he does terrific cameos in Bale goal celebrations \o/

The problem is, even the most blinded of us fans, must admit that the Bale wondershow every week is hiding HUGE problems elsewhere. Im not celebrating like I feel I should be. Its hard to celebrate poor performances week in and week out for months on end.

(waits for the predictable "who cares, we won" responses.)

Don't understand this Barca-esque playing with no strikers formation though.

AVB should have brought Ade on at some point.

Its not even Parker not sitting, its that he's physically not able to control a midfield, he's too old and lightweight now.

How times change.

Spurs scoring late goals/winners
Spurs scoring from free kicks

Usually wouldnt get excited if Spurs got a fk, becuase you would just be guessing which guy in the wall we would hit. I'm now getting very confident we are going to score each time.

We do though need to get somebody else on the scoresheet, the man isnt going to keep doing it...or maybe he is

Ok, I won't say that.

I will point out that I really hope your lot lose to Blackburn on Saturday though.

New team..but that could be the future..Bale scored but Scotty was almost MOTM for me..but he tired
A nearly game..it will come..

MOTM for the first 35 minutes but was way off the pace after that. Unfortunately once his tackling goes he offers nothing else.

You live in your house, I'll live in mine...needless to say, I think you'll find the glasses at my gaff are always at least half-full...

We have to rely on individual goals because we're not very fluid and clever at this whole pass-and-move business. Dribbling is a great skill to have in your locker, but we can't mindlessly dribble everywhere or take three touches just to control the ball and figure out where to pass to. Don't get me started on how static we are once we've offloaded the ball to a teammate too...we've gotten much better at our off-the-ball work as a team, but we start walking once we've gotten the ball. That's a pretty damning difference between us and United, forget about just the striker business. It's not about the like-for-like differences in individual quality, it's about the cohesion and intelligence of the team as a whole.

We have to get cleverer in the transfer market if we want to get somewhere. Even though I actually like most of our players, passing technique and vision are very, very difficult to improve once in your twenties.
