Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

You really have to lol at Liverplol. Deluded, scummy match fixing tossers. Who are nothing but a mid table team now lol.

To be honest people on here can slag em off (I fudgein hate them more than I hate any other club) so it pains me to say it but they are looking fairly good and Rodgers has definitely improved them.

I say people can slag em off because it will come back to bite you guys in the asssssssssssssssssssss... I see next season they will be a major force.

Next season will be very tough. I dont think Chelscum will be as bad next season, I think Man bricky will buy in the summer, I think Arse will be there or there abouts and as mentioned I think Liverscum will be a stronger outfit.

I guess this is why it is imperitive to keep Bale and we can only do so if we get CL as we need the funds to improve the team etc.

People said similar things at the end of last season. How we'd blown our chance. How City and United would both improve, how Arsenal would finally buy and how Saudi Sportswashing Machine and Liverpool would push on. Then they thought Chelsea were gonna win the league at the start of the season.

Well Liverscum have pushed on, Arsenal for all their disadvantages are not too far behind us, Everton are there or there abouts, Chelscum is a surprise but only because they acted their usual selves and sacked someone at a whim. We need to take advantage of the Chelscum self destruction - which it is.

Noocastle is a bit of a surprise but not by much.

Re: Gareth Bale

There are many reasons why Bale isn't better on the left, but a key one id s our appalling refs and the brutality culture in our game, aided by fans who think that Bale is cheating when he is fouled at high speed and goes over.

Bale flying down the wing is a fantastic sight, refs booking him and fans booing him is a nauseating spectacle.

On the whole he's safer in the middle, because it's harder to top speed, and also free kicks conceded centrally near the goal are (AFAIK) more dangerous than free kicks from the wing. That's of course when we get a free kick.

Re: Gareth Bale

Pool don't particularly bother me. I couldn't stand them in the 80s, a horrible, boring team.

But now, there easily 10 teams in the Prem I dislike more than them, probably more like 15.

So he'd be better in the middle because he'd be unable to use one of his strongest attributes?

Okay...

Re: Gareth Bale

What's the point of having Bale on the left when we don't have strikers that finish his crosses? Might aswell let him create in the middle, he's our best bet of scoring....

This is an excellent point.

if ade can get back last season's form it could bode well with both of them swopping places throughout the game.

That is a massive IF.

Bale is our one and only top class striker. As Rednapp junior said, he would probably command the highest transfer fee of anyone playing in England at the moment (Rooney would run him close) but no-one else of that age, star quality and ability compares to him. We are so so lucky we have him. Just wish we would have bought someone else who could have taken a load off his shoulders.

Re: Gareth Bale

SOMEONE has to give us width. If it is the fullbacks pushing on, that is fine. But SOMEONE has to do it.

In games I get really annoyed that Bale is drifting inside when NO-ONE is wide left, or if a right footer tries to do it.

Watch this video and see the passes from our right back Smith - just clever, incisive, low passes delivered straight to the striker's (or midfielder's) feet.

This is how Bale can be effective, low crosses - not high.

I am grateful Bale has improved his shooting and happy he is scoring, but SOMEONE needs to give us width when it all gets too congested and a team sits deep.

It was noticeable as the WBA game went on that the full backs pushed right up the field, but that was probably due to them having 10 men - AVB is often not brave enough to do this when a team has 11 and parks the bus, we just push at the blocked middle time after time after time...

And I think it's why we're seeing Benny back in the side and Bale now inside more often. Benny and Walker push-up, Azza's an extra, Bale's inside, there's no VdV or Modric drifting into the same space which means he can be more effective in that position, and Holtby appears to have the intelligence to drop off/go wide whenever it's necessary to make sure there are a few extra yards for Bale. I think sides get worn down constantly guarding against those options, and thus we are seeing him score later and later as well as seeing chances increase across the board as defenders get tired.

With regards to 'pushing at a blocked middle' I think we can safely say that Benny and Holtby are two players who will help create a little extra space in there...

I don't think it's something Bale should do all the time obviously, but when the need arises/situation dictates, it's been far more effective this season than last, and with the above adjustments occurring, it seems to have even more potential...

bale coming from deep is unstoppable. (Legally)

bale in the centre - it's a big if as to how he'll perform there once teams figure it out and put a man to man mark him to trod on his toes and tap on his ankles.

Bale given the flexibility to surprise, is the best way we can deploy him to make use of his full range of skills.

Agree with everything else you've said about bale there.

Agree with everything else you've said about bale there.

What you want to do is have him with proper wing forwards such as Willian or Muniain, players who are quick and can run the channels and the line and play the centre. This allows all three to float with bale in the False 9 Position.

Re: Gareth Bale

why does Bale turn it on for Wales on the right but for us there he looks clueless?
