The Academy, NextGen, U18 & U21 Premier League and On-Loan Thread

he is meant to be one of the quite good ones Gomelt, i was wondering why we were not playing youth tournaments as much as we used to, i liked it when the players were going round the world playing in competitions against other teams

The is certainly a trend now with us loaning abroad, would love to hear a comment on this from tim sherwood or somebody to see what the idea behind it is, not saying im against it, quite like the idea just wonder what the reasoning is.

that's him... doesn't look speedy but has a cool head to finish

Is there a list somewhere of all SPurs players out on loan? Can remember most of htem but sometimes easy to miss the odd one here or there as we have some many loaned out

Millwall fans seem quite confident of securing his loan signature.
It wouldnt surprise me, as the loan window re-opens thursday I believe.
Once Ade returns, I reckon then young Harry will go to 'Wall.

i thought the loan market reopened at some point, yep would be a good loan and it is what i thought as soon as we recalled him, wonder if livermore or carroll will go some where as well

I thought Andros did very well today. He copped for a load of fouls (Norwich a surprisingly "dirty" side..I did not see our last game against them-were they the same?)
He got 2 or 3 shots on target and went on a couple of mazy runs. Mackie was not a proper "focus" for the wide players so not many dangerous passes.

Looks better than Bale at cutting from the right inside. If he can get a couple assists/goals at QPR i honestly think he can push on and seriously challenge Lennon for a spot next season.

so . . . any news on the wonderkids sub appearance for Peterborough today?

Came on in the 54th minute, Peterborough started playing well and scored their two goals in a 2-2 draw

Pritchard showed lots of potential

I hoped we'd see Pritchard and wasn't disappointed- little un but a very good un.

Thought he looked pretty good coming off the bench in difficult circumstances today. Confident on the ball, got stuck in and played a few good passes. Did everything that Petrucci hasn't. He is tiny though! Hopefully more good performances to come.

Very small but looks a good prospect. Did more in his first 10 mins than Newell did in all the time he was on the pitch. One has a lot of potential............

I thought he did well, it was a big moment for him making his league debut, he didn't seem fazed by it at all, made himself available and had one good shot on target.

With regards to Pritchard, he is a very small lad but given the fact today was his league debut and considering his age I thought he just oozed confidence, he put himself about and got involved in pretty much every attacking movement we made once he come on. He certainly looks the part and I think we will be hearing a lot about him in the future.

very exciting player,he certainly changed the game for the better when he arrived. he wanted the ball all the time and when he got it he attacked with pace and purpose, just what we need. i look forward to seeing him start against leicester.

Thanks! THink Bostock and Luongo have returned to Spurs havent they?

Townsend had a great start, important for him as QPR have a lot of players and a good start will help him secure a place in the starting line-up. Half a season of PL football would do him a lot of good I think.

Sounds like Pritchard had a good start too. I think with our focus on technique over physical ability for so many of our youngsters it won't be uncommon for them to pass 20 before starting to make their mark on the Premiership. Delighted that his contract situation got sorted out, hopefully he'll get plenty of games in the Championship now.

Usually we give pretty lengthy contract, so why is the Pritchard 1 only 2 and a half years?

I have no idea (obviously), but if the rumours are true and his contract was about to expire in the summer and he was doubtful about signing a new contract I guess we just offered the length he would accept.

There is an extension clause on it as well I think

Yeah often we do a deal for 4 years with the option to extend for 2 years so would not be suprised if the was an in built clause which meant we had the option to extend it if he does well or just release him if he does not come on like we hope.

Agree with the above comment about us focusing more on techniue means the players might come through a little later but means they are at a higher level.

Would love to read some sort of official insight into why we are loaning out abroad now, not against it just wonder what the reasoning is behind it.
