OT: What next for Harry?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...as-QPR-prepare-to-face-Rafa-Benitezs-men.html

Only a dope would fail at Chelsea, insists Harry Redknapp, as QPR prepare to face Rafa Benitez's men
Anyone who takes over as manager of Chelsea and cannot be successful would have to be a dope, according to QPR manager Harry Redknapp.

Classless to the end.

I didn't take that as a dig at AVB until reading your post.

I'm still inclined to think its more 'Arry making excuses and speaking without thinking. He talks a lot of nonsense at times, but I don't think he is vindictive and trying to put down AVB.

Besides, he could be doing us a favour tonight.

Special Agent?
Wish he could've masterminded that result last April!
:(
Great result for him though...

That was a day to forget :-&

This was Harry's first victory at Stamford Bridge since 1999 apparently, a shame that he couldn't have ended that bad run when he was our manager although I don't remember Chelski ever playing quite that badly against us.

Well done Redknapp \o/ =D>

Great result for us (I don't give a brick about QPR)

Taarabt really can be great to watch, so glad there are players like him at some of the smaller clubs to bring some entertainment into those games. Bit like Ben Arfa at Saudi Sportswashing Machine, you know that Saudi Sportswashing Machine are just a brick relegation candidate that had a bit of a hot streak last season before returning to form this season, but at least when Ben Arfa is on the pitch you get some good entertainment from them.

(Not in any way fishing ;))

I was a bit apprehansive about the QPR game before tonight: media darling Harry vs AVB-dope-at-Chelski; Monday night, pressure to pick up points after other games etc etc.

Now, I'm actually MORE confident that we can win..

Interesting video... Redknapp clearly knows his football.
That's awesome. The bit at the end where they said about Lampard and Ferdinand being the two finest players of the players they picked turned out to be 100% true as well

This is great; how the hell did you find this Diego?? I assume Dan Mason compliled it? (Big Spammer and commentator who also does the ESPN Soccernet podcast)

Great video. Have to give it to Redknapp, takes balls to back such a young player so unequivocally especially when you know they are related and that if he didn't succeed there was bound to be a backlash.

Classless for sure. A cheap dig at Benitez IMO.
I honestly don't think it was one aimed at AVB.
I thoroughly expect some sort of Fergie-style patronization, and he will, of course, talk about the 'great set-up he left behind' which will not be challenged by anyone...watch this space.

Again, abusing Harry for the sake of it rather than him actually doing anything wrong.

Do you even disagree with what he has said ? Most of the fans on this forum ridiculed AVB when he was in charge of Chelsea because of their results compared to the money/squad.

But it was probably much more related to putting a bit of pressure on Chelsea while taking it off his own team... ie Rafa if he wins, he should do he has all the talent there. But considering he listed players not even at the club when AVB was there I doubt it was a dig at him.

And even if it was a dig at someone in particular, I take it you find this unacceptable? Well go and read all of your unwarranted digs at Harry and tell me why you are allowed to do it but he isnt ? Yours is on a much larger direct scale, his was a slight cheeky comment to someone he will have a glass of wine with in a couple of weeks.

I cant imagine how bitter and uptight I'd have to be to view his comment as anything other than a harmless remark.

Its nothing. Get over it. When he makes these comments you arent suppose to take it that seriously and analyse his every word.

I actually thought we easily deserved to beat them at Stamford Bridge last season. We missed so many chances and had one of them gone in we would have gotten third.

Great video too. Absolutely love it that he backed Lampard so strongly, and was proven right. Don't really like it when fans start telling people far more qualified how to do their jobs.

Fair play to Lampard for sitting there and taking it too.

Quite clearly Harry just understands the game. Cant work out why some people dislike him so much, he has so much knowledge and expertise I could listen to him talk about football for hours. Some people need to forget what they *think* is true (or maybe just thinking would be a start). Not only was he spot on about Lampard, but you could tell he didnt rate that other guy and was correct about Holland bouncing back and being a first division player (although he went a bit higher than that and was lower PL).

That guy asking the question, despite being completely and utterly wrong and having little expertise or evidence to back up his opinion was adamant he right and even went as far as trying to make it seem like Harry was talking gonad*s...

...I wonder if he went on to become a Spurs fan and posts in this thread.

To me that is exactly what would happen if any of these Harry haters in this thread discussed football with him, he would be ridiculously accurate while they would look as stupid as the guy who asked why a non league player was sold ahead of a world star.

I also remember something Martin Jol said when he took over at Spurs. He said (after Carrick playing 1 game) that he thought after his first training session that it was obvious he was Spurs next international footballer.... but Santini was moaning he had been given a 4th choice central midfielder. A lot gets mentioned about tactics, but its normally those that can spot a player that make the best managers.

It's not harmless. The problem with it is he does not aim it at one individual, therefore leaving himself in a position of possibly being taken to task over it. Instead he leaves it "open-ended" and in his crafty ****ney way allows people to make of it what they will. Once again, he will be viewed by the media as "cheeky Harry" because he has not slighted anyone directly.

The press and football in general rounded on SAF last week because he made a direct attack on another football club (albeit in defense of his own). Harry won't get that because of the way he worded things.

It is a throw-away remark, but a totally pointless one. And yes, classless. BUT............we really shouldn't be bothering ourselves on here about it, because he no longer has any bearing on our football club.
