The Inbetween Transfer Windows Rumour Thread

Agree, but don't think it'll happen in january as Atletico Madrid are still within a shout of the title. Definately think he's Chelsea bound in the summer window.

I agree with you Simon on this part, but I don't think they'll win the league. I'm sure they think that if they hang onto Barca's coat tails for as long as possible then they'll probably get CL football at least. Sell Falcao and they''re likely to drop down the league, so it makes sense they keep him until the summer when they might get the double windfall of CL money as well as Falcao's fee (which could even have increased by then!!)

Not sure I've seen anything from Townsend to suggest he's ready to, potentially, step in and play 5 games in a row, should Lennon's injury problems persist. Downing would provide very good cover for both wings, and prior to last season was consistently good - just never brilliant.

I really think January's about wheeling and dealing, especially for a club like ours, with limited resources. We need to be looking at out of form players, those out of favour or those returning from injuries.

Frankly, if we can somehow grab Downing as cover for the wings, Micah Richards for RB, and Torres, I'd be delighted. None are perfect signings, but in the circumstances, they'd be great.

Are you based in the uk?
can you PM the number of your dealer i need some smack after the day i have had.

Of course they wont, but they haven't been this close for GHod knows how many years, so if they hold any ambitions of maybe once come close to Barcelona/Real Madrid, they will wait until the summer transfer window to sell Falcao. The Drogba loan to Chelsea makes sense to me.

Both Mirror and Mail reporting that Friedel is set to join Blackburn on loan until january when it will become a permanent move

The deadline is 5pm so will be an interesting thursday.

Thought Paul Robinson was doing well for them ? I think letting Friedel leave now is a bit risky. We need a proper cover for goalkeeper. Don't think we can rely on Gomes or Cudicini as they have hardly played in the last 2 years.

As it's not an EPL loan, I believe we could recall Friedel in the event of an injury to Lloris.

I think Cudicini, Gomes and Archer give plentiful cover myself.

Re Blackburn, I assume Berg wants his old teammate as a GK coach, as well as to play.

Would be great. I dont dislike Freidel but we need some consistency at the back - same GK week in week out

This. After tonight we only have one non-PL match until the end of the year, so Lloris get a long run in the team, with maybe Cudicini filling in at home to the greeks

BBC team news for the Lazio game also says that "Freidel has been left in London" - not that that confirms the Blackburn rumours however does support them
