Kevin Danso

People have bought into all the changes unconditionally, which is great, thats all part of being a fan and having hope. I don't think its the crime made out though if you question or wonder out loud if all the decisions are and will be correct.

Ultimately we have gone all in with this new look, selling a host of players to do it, so everything is going to come with pressures, as it should, this is top level PL football
Imho we currently have a good mix in our back 4 so should be able to switch it up a bit. Danso, v good box defender excellent at headed clearances decent passing; JPVH great passing, decent defending not quick; Van der Ven great recovery place, really good ball carrier, not a great header of the ball or passer; Senesi very good all round defender but not quick. We need to utilise this mix for different games.

Here's the one thing nobody seems to be acknowledging.
Kevin Danso obviously wants to leave and play more football.
He does not especially want to be part of our squad.

It seems that your narrative is set here - why can't criticism or opinions be just that?

It's a little early in the season to be throwing around these sorts of comments.

I think you're being a little cheeky here.
And I suspect if you thought about it, you'd agree.

No of course and I think people get that, but the bigger picture is that he is IMO the only "defender first" that we have, so if he goes because he wants to, fine, but I think you need a similar profile in that respect in replacement.

I do get the "if they don't want to be here" arguments, but we seem far too happy with applying it to literally all the depth we need as a squad, part of the art of squad building is addressing it and keeping people as well IMO.

Mostly covered in my responses to revils @thfcsteff - VH isn't an unknown quantity, none of the players we have signed this summer are, we've seen them all up close in the Prem over several seasons and such have a decent understanding of their strengths and weaknesses.

Baleforce is the only poster I've seen writing him off (who else ha e you seen doing so?) And lets be fair - he hams up every opinion 😂

Which we apparently have been trying to do (I had heard the Tosin link Saturday).
I think Danso is perfect as part of a defensive group/option, but if he wants to leave then it is clear DeZerbi won't stand in his way - especially as De Zerbi clearly does not see him as a first choice starter.

I think these next few months are going to require a LOT of radical acceptance from some areas of our support base. This manager has made it VERY clear what he is prioritizing in terms of style and players. And some faces don't fit, whether we like it or not.

Yeh and look thats fine, I am under no illusions that if RDZ wants it we all have to lump it, but some of it we don't have to like either, regardless how its come about.

I think the people arguing understand that, but he’s been demoted to 5th choice behind VDV, Van Hecke, Senesi and Davies. So the chances of playing football got even slimmer this summer, when some think he should be first choice.

I’m blabbing there but essentially what I think I’m saying is he’s been forced out by the summers squad management, so it’s a bit harsh to just say well he wants out. It’s understandable when you get demoted.

And only time will tell if these squad decisions will be right, which is what I think people are discussing also. No one (as far as I can see) are making any bold statements

He has been managed out is how you would describe it - that's RDZ's perogative at the end of the day.

I'm not attaching any judgement to his decision whatsoever, simply stating the facts as I understand them.
In fact, I have sympathy for him, as it is clear that RDZ is not fussed whatsoever (if he was he'd have fought to keep him like he has Bergvall).

Where has the narrative that he is 5th choice come from?

If van Hecke gets injured, it would be Dan so that comes on. We aren't seeing Davies play RCB ahead of him.

I think my main point (and the one which I personally feel got misdirected attention) is that the manager has made choices and IMO, it is far too early to write off his choices based on two games. That was all I was saying. It was not an attempt to block people from opinions or criticisms, etc.

And it was not taken that way matey
