Dejan Kulusevski

I'm someone who doesn't really see it working on the left. He's no much of a crosser nor an outside dribbler from what we've seen. He'd have no threat cutting in on his right so I don't think it would particularly work on the left for him and this why he's never really played there throughout his career afaik.

I'm a Kulu fan but got frustrated with him when he kept turning inside from the right channel back onto his left foot and losing all team momentum. I had equal frustration with him when he passed up opportunities to cross with his right foot even though it was absolutely the right thing to do. So we were all happy to see him a narrower role.

I think a good coach would easily get him using that left foot in either channel even if he had a central position. Problem is, we haven't really had Kulu or a good coach for some time now.

This forum loves proposing positions players could play in that they haven't in their careers. Professional coaches never put them there, I'm confident there's good reasons as to why - just accept they are nothing special at the position they actually specialise in rather than believe they're going to be better in a position they never play in....

It's easy to become an expert when you watch a load of games and think you've become intimately knowledgeable about the game.
You'll have gained some insight, to be sure, but also likely a level of self-delusion

We have seen him a very few times on the left channel even for phases of games. He played very well.

The key to this is knowing in Kudus, Kulu, Xavi and even Madds that we can get into fluid systems. When Poch first joined it was a more rigid 4-2-3-1 than when had nurtured it. It was mostly to do with Dembele, Eriksen and Dele with perhaps Kane being a great enabler as well. On paper Eriksen was on the right of the 3 and Dele was in the space behind Kane. I think we're all a little numb actually. We've not seen ballers play together for quite some time at Spurs. Just look at how Pep organised that cup final team yesterday. Some really bold choices to get the flair in the team on the pitch at the same time.

I think maybe the best version of Kulu I saw here was under Conte. In fact, I recall Kulu being hailed as 'world class' at that time...and he was only 21 when he first joined us.
