The *WHEN* we go down thread

You know results today and 2mw is not gonna go our way
Yeah the only result any chance to go our way is the Goons losing. I can't see Forest not getting 3 points at home to Burnley. The Spammers have the fortune of playing a Palace side who were pictured out partying following them getting the Conference league semi, and Wharton had to come off injured in that game.

Overall, the only team I think we have a small chance of catching is Forest and it's likely they will be 5 points clear of us by the end of the day....

I actually think our January would have been exactly the same under Levy. When you look at the entire PL, there was only one transfer of note and that was Semenyo to City. We were involved in 2 of the other top 5 or 6 deals. Only one year ago our recruitment team under Levy were getting lambasted for not acting early in January in the middle of an injury crisis, only bringing in Kinsky early Jan and the waiting around to the end of the window for Tel and Danso. I have no reason to believe this Jan under Levy would have yielded a different outcome. An outcome that made a difference. The deals weren't there and our brand (to players) had fallen so low under Levy it was becoming harder and harder to convince them to join us.

Levy probably would have acted earlier on Frank. Shame he could never hire the right managers in the first place though. That was the actual root cause for why he had to keep firing the gun. Frank was no different.

I think everything that happened after the Lewis's stepped in, starting in March '25 with the appointment of Peter Charrington, has too many question marks over who was pulling the strings.

On the face it of it, Vinai was brought in to run footballing operations and him and Lange worked together on that side of things from that point - they were the public faces around the Frank appointment, in the promo videos and talking about their shortlist and rigorous testing process to arrive at the decision they arrived at.

You might be right, and completely fair when you relate it to recent January’s it was no better under Levy. I think I’m just going by the fact that when we’ve ever been in serious trouble, he’s acted aggressively to get us out of it. I’m thinking of the window we signed Reid and Dawson, and then Palacios, getting Defoe back etc. I think if we looked in danger in Jan under Levy he would have done something. But I might be wrong on that.

I've begun to question what my relationship with the Premier League will be if we're not in it. Clearly I'll still need Sky to get Championship (and assume we'll be on live A LOT). I can defo cancel my TNT Sport subscription which comes with the added bonus of giving me further distance from Sam Matterface.

It's probably no more PL Fantasy League - I guess I'd just follow PL results and I currently follow the Championship.

The good thing about already accepting relegation is that when we conceded that late goal yesterday I was not surprised, I was not stressed, I did not lose my temper. It is the pain that kills you, but now that I have accepted the situation dealing (I did that quite some time ago) with the loss is easy.

Now I just keep focusing on who I think will be in the squad next season.

Obviously we will lose players, but 27/28 we need to be playing PL football again. Maddison and hopefully Kulu will be real leaders next season

I don’t think it’s realistic to think that internationals, especially the ones really important for their national teams (Kulu), will stay if we get relegated. Having said that, it’s not like they can all force their way out. It’ll be interesting to see.

Still though, 15 points still to play for.

Kulu will stay, no one is going to take the risk on him, unless its a loan

Might go in Jan if he stays fit

I think some are going to be surprised (or should that be disappointed) at the amount of players who will be here next season if in the Championship....
I concur

Only ones I think will 100 percent be off are Vicario/Porro/Romero/Gallagher/Richi/Xavi/Kudus

I think others will want off, for sure, but I dont think will be in a hurry to sell and I dont think clubs will offer what we consider is enough v a greater chance of promotion

Solanke would get bids of 25/30 million, hes a proven Championship goal scorer

We own the players and the club will dictate what happens
I don’t get all the ideas the players will leave
Someone has to offer too and want to buy them first
And they are all paid well

IF IF IF the club use the complete negative of relegation, we could overhaul the squad quicker than another 2/3 seasons in the Championship, players on big wages/egos will want off

Some might be off but some players might find it hard to get comparable wages elsewhere, we are pretty high payers regardless of all talk about low wages at Spurs. To balance the books though we might need to offload some , there have been rumours about VDV how much could we get for him ?

We are paying high wages in the Premier League, yet if it’s true that players wages are slashed after relegation then this point falls flat.

Agree except Kudus, unlikely he will be proven fit by start of next season and doubt anyone will take the punt for what we will ask.

You might find one or two surprises to stick around with an agreement that if it doesn't look like we are going straight back up then they can leave in January. I'd also say VDV is certain to leave....

Not sure that rumour about a 50% cut has any substance , so one morning Madders wakes up and checks his last pay slip and finds it's been cut by 50% , he rings up Vinai and says what's going on I know we got relegated but I haven't played all season it's not my fault. :)

I thought I was right there with you...until that equaliser...then I realized I was still in deep. Crushing!

I mostly agree, except i dont see Gallagher going. No one apart from us wanted him. He will be good in the Championship. Also Xavi could stay for a season after being mostly woeful all this season, he may want to show us how good he can be.
