This is what concerns me

I’m not classing Fulham away as a must win. We rarely win there. If we get a point, I’ll be happy. I’m a little worried that if we lose, particularly badly, and people believe it’s must win, Tudor could come under pressure already.

Palace for me is absolutely must win. If we can’t beat Fulham or Palace, with Liverpool away on the horizon, it’ll look very very bleak for us.

I think we have to beat Fulham and Pslsce to really stand a chance of staying up. If we draw against Fulham and beat Palace then there’s a glimmer, but honestly I’m struggling to see us winning any more games - I just think we’re that bad and don’t even have the fight West Ham and Forest do.

I will say as well, never really any pressure on Tudor for me. He’s come in with a horrendous task and no real fit, quality players. If he turns this round and keeps us up, I’d let the man write his own bonus cheque tbh.

I hear what you're saying, but tbf Tudor is under pressuire from day one. We are and have been in the muck before he joined and his remit reflects that. He knows the target and seems lazer focused to achieve it.
Whether he/we achieve it? Stay tuned...
He’s definitely under pressure but I think fans are willing to give him some leeway at the moment. The crowd were very good on Sunday I thought. If the fanbase view Fulham as a “must win” and we lose badly, I’d be worried people in the stadium will panic and turn on Tudor. There’s pressure, which he’s under, and there is the pressure that comes from a crowd turning which can be terminal to his chances of survival.

I wonder what would happen should we gain no points from our first, say, four games with Tudor...do the club twist again, a la Stellini?

Let's hope we don't have to find out, but it's an interesting (if slightly terrifying) question.
It’s a very interesting question. If that happens, the narrative very strongly becomes “what were they thinking, no PL experience” and the crowd will start getting very nervous because I think West Ham and Forest will pick up some points in that period. If he doesn’t get at least 3 points from the next 3 games (and you can write off Liverpool most likely), we’re in trouble and Tudor is in trouble IMO. The importance of Palace, for me, cannot be overstated.

Of course, he beats Fulham and Palace and everything starts to look rosy again and we can look forward to winning the Champions League...so many permutations and moving parts here.

We need 9-11 points. We're more likely to beat 3 of Palace, Forest, Leeds, Brighton and Everton at home than Fulham away IMO even accepting how utterly hopeless we have been at home for over a year.

Even Sunderland or Wolves away look more likely than Fulham away to me.

Sunday isn't must win for me. I'd be thrilled with 3 points, I'd be happy with 1 and I'd be reasonably satisfied with a decent performance even if it ends in defeat. Lose badly and I'm gnawing my fingernails and toenails until Palace the following Thursday.

My toenails went a week or two back 😂

I hope you’re right buddy, I will take any points that fall our way right now.

Me too. I just want the points on the board and this nightmare to be over but trying to maintain some sort of perspective.

I'm putting all my eggs in the "home matches" basket which, given we've won 4 of 28 home league games (19 points from 84), is slightly fudging insane.

IMO we need at least a point against Fulham. It's not the actual 1 point that we need, it is just something to break the sequence of losses. A point against Fulham takes a tiny bit of pressure off of the next home game. Lose to Fulham though and I think the combination of confidence being so low and there being so much pressure on the home game against Palace would see us fail to get the win that we need.

No IF about it....it's who we are..

The stadium crowd, needs to know what's required from them....they need to switch off from being 'baited' all week every week and realise we are in this together, it ain't us vs them.(ie the club/team)

Especially as our game Vs Palace is the only game shifted out to Thursday.

Results go against us Sat/Sun and Tues/weds.....we could even be in the bottom 3 come ko.

Nothing to do with the fans at all. I think you have misinterpreted me. it's about the narrative that is being sprayed all over the place on MSM and the internet. I reckon, in some instances, it becomes self-fulfilling, in terms of player morale and how refs administer games.

Who is talking about relegation on the internet if not the fans?

Are you asking opposing fans to not mention our potential relegation? Or hoping to go full CCP and censor the media? I'm a bit lost.

And I outright disagree on the reffing front, they're just doing their job day to day.

Heard someone on a podcast yesterday (think it was The Spurs Show) saying that we need to do what Everton did at Goodison when they were last in a relegation dogfight - basically turned the ground into being like Galatassary's for that run of games. Insane noise before kick-offs, constant booing of any opposition touches, on the back of the referee for every decision against, huge noise for home corners and set-pieces...

Scousers creating a siege mentality?....it's who they are mate.

Have to say, I've fallen into the trap the last few weeks of scouring for Spurs podcasts which just exacerbates my frustration and nervousness about our situation. I do enjoy the podcasts but it's f**king misery porn with us at the moment.

I'm sure in 1992 under Shreeves, in 1994 under Ossie, in 1998 under Gross and 2004 under Pleat, I worried about us but could sort of "put it down and leave it" in the aftermath of a game because there wasn't really an outlet to indulge my worry. Now it's there 24/7. F**k the modern world anyway.

Literally altering minds in action....

How is anything meant to thrive, prosper or just have a chance of recovering in that environment.

This is the table from November 1st onwards.

13. West Ham 21pts -4
14. Leeds Utd 20pts -1
15. Brighton 19pts 0
16. Palace 19pts -8
17. Forest 17pts +2
18. Tottenham 12pts -13
19. Burnley 9pts -16
20. Wolves 8pts -0

I’m choosy in what I listen to: basically The Spurs Show (has always had a big element of gallows humour about it and there’s nothing wrong with that) and View from the Lane (which is usually sensible and has some non-Spurs, dispassionate voices). The Tottenham Way can be good too - depends on how gloomy Marcus Buckland is feeling. 😀

I think that is one thing Everton showed when they were battling relegation hard; their supporters were ferocious and howled at indignation if even a throw was given against them. You are on point!

Sad to have lost your listenership...

Spot on. What else worries me is the narrative. Everybody is talking about Spurs going down and not only does that seep into the mentality of the players, it also affects officials and impacts on their decision making.
isn't it the other way around - the performance of the players that seep into the fan's talking about Spurs going down?

i mean win the next few games and predictably the fan's narrative will revert
