Transfer thread

Are we actually going to fudging sign someone?

Seems that we tried for Semenyo but he chose trophyless €iteh over the reigning CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE 🙃

He could’ve at least wrote us a nice letter explaining his decision, like Rivaldo did all those years ago.

Seems like its Elisha Sowunmi. Our new versatile wing forward

So our 'transfer strategy' is just signing everybody from Wet Spam, bar for their only quality player? What about doing this the other way round: they keep their players and we give them Frank?

Sets us up for a fall in the summer because logic dictates that money is there to be spent and there is longer to identify and work on a good target. If they ain't spending 80m+ on one player in summer to game change this squad then its just more BS
I doubt they'll still be here come the summer, so they can pretend promise all they want

I know we had conversations with Bournemouth re: Semenyo in the summer and the player was happy to join us but we baulked at Bournemouth's £70m price tag.
The crazy thing is we could have tried to buy him 2 years ago for probably 35m. I have no idea why we wait so long for a player to become a proven quantity by which point they have better suitors than ourselves.

Because it's only obvious in hindsight, and was he a player Ange wanted? Probably 10 players 2 years ago that were on the brink of breakthrough, where are they now?

We can afford 70M, if he was the right guy in summer, do it early, do it at the price asked or even more (United overpay for everyone but still manage to get players while with a brick manager and not in Europe, and yes, I get they are United).

Saudi Sportswashing Machine, City, Liverpool, Scum, Chelsea have all gone out for that 70M+-100M+ player in last couple of years, we seem stuck in the 60M range for our top players, we can't compete all the time but we badly need 1 or 2 of those, we can rely on the Xavi/Bergvall/Odobert/Gray signings with the hope they all come good
