Thomas Frank - Head Coach

I really don't wanna go down Frank v Ange stuff and this forums full of it to the n'th degree

But I will agree on the fact that managers of this club are fodder, fodder for the greater issues.

If anyone thinks panic loaning Tel, then panic buying him to replace Son, whilst doubling down on Odobert helps any manager for quality needed to compete in this league, then you have been on the cool aid. If didn't help Ange and it doesn't help Frank. Neither does lack of planning round a striker and us panicking to bring in Muani on deadline day. Nor does adding Takai IMO, nor does giving Bentancur a new contract and loaning in Palhinha.

The clubs a cluster fcuk at the minute in general, thats not excusing the style, but my GHod how people think this club is destined for greatness in its current set ups and decision making, good grief. We are excepting our bent DOF to leave who was bizarrely bought back from a ban and given a joint role in the club only a couple of months ago...............................Its honestly laughable

We probably agree on a lot of it. IMO the problem is that the club and the fanbase have no idea what they actually want in the post-Poch years. We want CL but we need to break the Cup drought. We do that but no, we need to finish in the top 10. We want attacking football but we won't commit to it. We want stability but we've had more managers and more directors of football than I can count. The club is a shambles and it will be for a long time because it cannot commit to anything.

(I understand that might sound contradictory given I'm clearly not all that open to giving Frank time. But I don't see the point in playing football like we do at the moment. It will lead us absolutely nowhere, no matter how long he gets.)

But thats where I am with no sacking him, for all those reasons other than another roll of the dice for Spurs. Its not improving until we are more joined up off the pitch IMO. Its such an underrated aspect IMO, I look at Chelsea now and I almost see a carbon copy just with more money hahah

And I appreciate that view. It's the exact view I had with the previous manager (I understand, I don't want to raise that argument again). We didn't do that so I have far less interest in getting invested in the idea of time solves all. Frank's as good as gone, it's just a matter of when.

I disagree. He needs a solid first season and then demonstrate progressive improvements after. I think he's here for the long haul.

It's quite simple actually....we want a Poch like experience.

Why do you say this? Is it because of the booing yesterday?

I see nothing in his history to suggest he can handle the scrutiny that's going to continue to come. He's already under so much pressure to get both results and performances. He's never had that before, and we are not a club that will let him learn that on the job.

Perhaps...or he will come through this 'dark' period and take us upwards when we win a couple of games via some deflected goals etc?
There's probably nothing in his history that suggests this won't happen either...

I have no problem with Vic getting booked for continuous time wasting because whenever he did that was when Bees were in the ascendency. When we had momentum he was rotating the ball back into play quickly. I actually call it good leadership by Vic to take the booking and help his team mates get some composure back.

It just all feels a little entitled to be having a knock at Vic when he was there to do a job. It's certainly not his fault the outfield players couldn't gain control.
I don’t blame Vicario…. It’s not him who has sent out a team to nick a nil nil draw.

I've been arguing that point for about 18 months. Frank was a pointless appointment, but this is what the majority of the fanbase and the board wanted, no? Ange's last 18 months were all about a plan B and being more pragmatic. We got what we wished for. And like I've said all along, we'll sack Frank and bounce back in the other direction yet again. An attacking manager that we won't fully commit to, sack him and get a pragmatist again.
The only saving grace is that the decision makers at the club have now changed. We may see more joined up thinking on the football side of things.

I don't think it's a knock on Vic.

i don't disagree about TF not being proactive fluid
i meant that TF knows how to build a fluid counter attacking team

he needs the right players and kudus is the only one that fits the bill right now.
- odobert, tel, muani - too young and inexperienced
- richy - no dependable for hold up and support play and doesn't know how to lose his marker
- simons - getting better but still below expectations
- paulinha - can break up but can't support attack

hopefully owners and management would have seen enough to get reinforcements
a tricky subject with solanke, kulu and maddison out and returning - do we buy experienced and see their values go down? or risk points by waiting for them.
Get halfway into building a team suited for counter attacking football then change the manager flip flopping to one with a different style?
