***Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea***, Premier League, Nov 1st 2025 at White Hart Lane

Richarlison was our best player in the latter part of last season and in the beginning of this season. Johnson was last seasons top scorer. Xavi has been here 2 months and Kudus has been very good so far.
What's your point? Those are "failed" transfers? Then show what Bournemouths failed transfers have done.
They are players that we have spent far too much money on whether Kudas comes good or not I’ve not even mentioned Tel. We have lost Kane and Son and replaced with absolute brick. I would rather have seen Moore and Scarlett than what we have going forward. We have no partnerships of strikers whatsoever.

But who are these amazing Bournemouth signings?

Kroupi ain’t bad mate and on loan
Semenyo another powerful player takes a player on.

We did not offer properly for Semenyo or Hincapie, two players who would've absolutely worked for what Frank is doing. As for keeping/playing Moore, this system would've killed him and stifled his growth. Delighted he is learning elsewhere; he'd have been dying on the vine here with these tactics IMO...I mean, we're killing Odobert, whose potential is diminishing game by game, ditto Tel. Looking at Chelsea, if either of those was there they'd be prospering...

Well call me entitled but I don't think our captain on the night should be marching down the tunnel without acknowledging the fans.

Edit to add that I wasn't booing. I was actually clapping (somewhat half-heartedly I admit) the players, as I always do and will continue to do. I don't believe any of them were happy with the performance.
I get that but I also don’t mind that they’re tinkled off about the performance/tactics. I’d be more worried if all the players did a lap of the pitch smiling and waving after producing that utter nonsense

Yes I don’t disagree. I was feeling quite tinkled off last night and watching VDV and Spence marching down the tunnel didn’t help my mood.. I’ve also said I don’t agree with booing the players as I didn’t think they deserved that.

I know he's a favourite of yours Steff and has had a good start to the season, but if I'm honest any time prior to this season that I've seen him all I've seen is pace and power with little end product.
Not convinced this isn't anything other than a purple patch.
He has end product imo
He has everything to step up

There’s a strange thing among the fanbase of talking our players down and talking players of other club’s up way beyond what they deserve.

In really simple terms, the players we have are more than capable of playing a more fluid game in possession than what we saw yesterday. It doesn’t need to be prime Pep, but there’s an ocean between yesterday and that. And our players really are good, and being made to look extremely poor in possession with what they are asked to do.

This!

That's two players. You said our transfers in the last 5 years were terrible, and Bournemouths were far better. Semenyo has been good for about half a season. He wasn't anything special in the beginning. Maybe let players settle for some time before passing judgement!

He's a favourite of mine only in the sense of a set-up like the one Frank seems to favor. Of the potentially great LW's we can access, he is near the top of the tree.

Agreed wholly.

Yes we having been hearing the player excuse for several seasons now

Having listened to most of the pod and our xG from open play being listed up (I don't have the numbers to hand).

How much of that open play xG would have been a result of counter attacking and turnovers? I'm guessing a rather significant amount. In a way imo the xG against Chelsea wasn't an outlier, it's what we get when we're up against a good team and don't create from set pieces or turnovers.

Although one of our worst and most frustrating games this season it's also more of the same. We can create from set pieces. We can be a threat on the break or if we win the ball through high pressing. But us having controlled possession is usually a really safe thing for the opposition, we create exceptionally little.

We can’t handle any pressing because our only out ball in this set ip is a backwards or sideways pass
That’s tactical as much as capability
