I’m not hating on Tel at all but I did think that had he scored his pen it would have had to be retaken. It looked like he totally stopped in his run-up? I was a kind of watching through my fingers so might have that wrong but that’s what it looked like.
 
I’d like to see the penalty rules changed so that once the whistle goes the keeper can come off his line. Sick of seeing these stupid run ups with, doesn’t feel at all like a natural part of the game.

Or there’s a whistle for the taker, then soon after for the keeper. Like Gladiators :D

This fanbase deserves little at times. I have been clear I am not convinced with Tel but whats that now......20 years old and played 13 times for us, if people are making final conclusions and statements like they are with this, then they need their heads checked.

Also he missed a pen trying to sit the keeper down, BTW MVDV tried to take a traditional pen and missed...........the outcome is the exact same so maybe people need to stop being so dramatic and hateful for a second.

The lads head is now going to be all over the shop, not least because of the racist abuse..........for that he has my full support and I hope he proves me wrong and rubs my nose in it

You can Tel (;)) that he has a strong mentality, the miss and apparent abuse will only make him stronger in the long run.

I've seen things he does in a game I really like, and physically he has all the attributes to succeed in the PL. I'm confident with time he will be a success here. That being said, we still need to strengthen with a couple of forwards - that much is obvious. Let's hope we progress with Eze and Savinho....

Sometimes wonder if the "support" part of being a supporter is too much for people to understand.

Not by any means saying we can't discuss players critically. You're a great example of doing that while still also supporting as you show in this post.

I'm slightly sorry for being pedantic as the tone of your post makes it utterly clear what you mean. But abuse won't make him stronger, the support he gets from others when this happens, his mental strength and new positive experiences can make him stronger in this. The abuse isn't useful in any way shape or form.

Again, just to be as clear as I can be. Not in any way saying that you think the abuse is good or useful. Your post to me reads crystal clear on that. Just felt like a point worth making when some people (luckily not on here) seem to think abuse is warranted.

Like you I see real qualities in Tel just waiting to blossom. He needs to be set up in the situations he can thrive in.
 
Meh penalty misses happen.

He looked like a deer in the headlights when he came on, which surprised me as despite his age out of the squad he would have played in/been around more bigger games than most our squad

Still back Frank to turn him into a player

It didn't bode well when he gave away a fk by just barging into someone in the 1min he came on.

Anyhow it happens. But I can never understand why race has to come into it. Vdv missed and nothing will be mentioned of it. Both contributed to us losing. And Vic well may as well not have been in goal.

guess it comes down to just utter lack of brain cells and sadness in their lives

I've no problem with that sort of foul further up the field when we are under the pump, kills the game and we looked fine at defending free kicks.

Emirates Marketing Project are experts are game killing fouls.
