It's not terrorism agreed but it's not legal. It needs to be nipped in the bud.

We live in a democracy. If you don't like what yhe government does, vote against them. Or have a peaceful protest.

This is the point their making. They accept vandalism and breaking and entry. But this is not terror. They literally spray painted jets used to support the murder of babies in Gaza. More than anything it's hugely embarrassing for the RAF that some hippies on an escooter beat their security and did this.

Tbf you can argue it is. Spraying paint into an aeroplanes engine is serious damage. Puts the pilots life at risk. As those planes are there to protect the british public it puts everyone at risk.
So fair enough.

Using terrorism powers to uphold the law against non terrorists is, in my opinion. When Kier Starmer first mentioned use of counter-terrorism powers to deal with illegal migrants and associated trafficking activity it made me shudder. When you're held as a terrorist the same rights you have when you're arrested for "normal crimes" don't apply. When you proscribe an organisation as a terrorist organisation and a person as a terrorist merely expressing support or sharing that person's content becomes not just a criminal offence. But a terrorism offence. For context of how far reaching this is, any known members of Palestine Action will get placed on watch lists and banks will HAVE to close their accounts as handling "terrorist property" is a criminal offence in itself.

And its a real slippery slope as the definition of terrorism is being changed by the government, from plotting to kill and maim innocent civilians to spread terror and panic for political aims to menial acts of embarrassment and inconvenience.

You know people cheered the new Labour government abandoning the "Rwanda scheme" but whats more humane, "off shore" processing of asylum claims by those coming here illegally or treating them and their associates as potential terrorists, being able to squirrel them off to behind closed doors court hearings and block their rights to representation and communication....all part of the (rightly - when dealing with "real" terrorists) draconian powers under counter terrorism legislation....
